courier-imap to dovecot
Hello! I am here since my boxes (40000 emails in folders) are not
usable with roundcube and courier-imap. Server is core 2 quad, 4GB RAM
and 1TB HD. Which are steps for migration for about 40 Maildir boxes
to dovecot?

SSD Drives
Has anyone installed a high I/O application such as an email server on
SSD drives? Was thinking about doing two SSD's in RAID1. It would
solve my I/O latency issues but I have heard that SSD's wear out
quickly in high I/O situations? Something like each memory location
only has X many writes before its done. Just wandering if anyone has
tested it and if newer SSD's are better about

Replacing SW RAID-1 with SSD RAID-1
Hi,
I want to replace my hard drives based SW RAID-1 with SSD's.
What would be the recommended procedure? Can I just remove one drive,
replace with SSD and rebuild, then repeat with the other drive?
Thanks

SSD drives for the OS - 1 or 2?
Preparing to build a small replacement server (initially built in 2005)
and normally for the OS I would buy 2x500GB drives and deploy in a RAID
1 configuration.
Now we have SSD drives available
- does just a single SSD drive offer the same reliability or is there
advantage in deploying two in a Raid 1 config?
Also, what form factor / interface is best for the SSD OS boot device on
a server

Compact Flash hard drives
Has anyone worked with either the Hitachi or Seagate Compact flash
drives in an IDE to CF interface and set the up with EXT3 formatted
partitions for use with LVM?
I ASSuME that LVM is not for FAT32 formatted drives.

The card is a 64M Sandisk and I am useing a version of LEAF called
WISP-dist but I also experianced the same problem with the Bering
distro. Here is my syslinux.cfg:

HDT 0.3.6-pre1 is out !
The 0.3.6 release will be mostly bug fix oriented.
Before releasing, I'd love having more feedback on it. So here come the
-pre1 release.
I would like to thank the following people for making this new release
possible :
Pierre for his patches,
Gert for his tests,
Alexander Andino for his great artwork,

LVM encryption and new volume group
Hi Chris,
thanks for your answer.
It is the first time I decided to encrypt my lvm. I choosed to encrypt the volume group, not every logical volume itself, because in case of doing lvm snapshots in that group they will be encrypted too?
And how do I create a new encrypted volume group?
Regards
Tim

SSD diagnostics / test suite?
Hey folks,
I looked back through the list archives and there are surprisingly few
threads with "SSD" in the subject.
In my new job I've been handed over a number of things that were
outstanding with the previous Sys Admin, and one of them was an SSD
that was suspect. I just plugged it into a diagnostics laptop to use
the Linux Smart software to check it - and it all seems fine
