Shared mailboxes unix permissions
Hello Timo, I'm running dovecot-1.2.11/Maildir and plan to migrate to single UID mailboxes some day, but for now, I've got "system" users and I'm testing permissions handling in order to set up shared mailboxes. The private namespace mailboxes location is location = maildir:/courriel/boites/%u:CONTROL=/courriel/meta/%u:INDEX=/var/dovecot-test/indexes/%1u/%u I've

Postfix/Dovecot permissions for new mailboxes
Hello, the wiki page describe that permission should copied from root mail directory https://wiki2.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Permissions The permissions for the root mail directory are set to 2770: drwxrws--- 36 root mail 4096 Apr 15 02:30 /var/spool/mail/ But newly created mailboxes get following permissions: drwx--S--- 5 newuser mail 4096 Apr 23 19:31 /var/spool/mail/newuser/ In

With this settings I don't get the expectet result, still get wrong permissions on new mailboxes. Do you have mail_location=maildir:~/mail or mail_location = maildir:/path/to/whatever/%u I tested with latest 2.2 that if I use /path/to, I get correct permissions. I have to correct myself. I tested with sdbox now too, and it seems that using mail_location=sdbox:~/Mail produces the expected behaviour. mdbox uses same code as sdbox for this, so it should work fine. Dbox group file permissions
Hi everyone, I feel like I am missing something obvious here. I have dovecot up and running and every piece of mail is given user read/write permission. I see the option mail_gid, but I do not see anyplace to set the group permissions. I see the below wiki talking about new home directories getting their permission from the parent directory, but this does not seem to work. Any

http://dovecot.org/releases/2.2/beta/dovecot-2.2.beta1.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/2.2/beta/dovecot-2.2.beta1.tar.gz.sig Lots of fixes since 2.2.alpha1, especially related to dsync. Also dsync now supports syncing private message flags when INDEXPVT is used. Here's again the list of all the major changes in v2.2: * When creating home directories, the permissions are copied from the
