Problem with seeing mail after Upgrade from Courier
I created a new server for a webmail system because the old server crashed. When I created the server, I installed Dovecot and the old server had Courier. On the new server, I'm doing virtual users where the old one created system users. I moved all the folders over for all the users on to the new server and ran the Courier-Dovecot migration script. The files were created successfully with no

Problems with Upgrade from Courier
I inherited a server from a previous employee. The server crashed so it was time to move everything over to another server. We have a web mail site and I installed everything running dovecot, postfix and roundcube. After I installed it, everything worked great when I created a new user. The new user could send and receive emails with no issues. I then copied the home directory over from the

syncing imap servers with imapsync
hello list, I am attempting to sync two imap servers using the imapsync perl script. It seems handy and easy. Here's what happens when I try to do this: # # Postfix master process configuration file. problem with dovecot and sieve
Hi We've been using dovecot with great success so far. We are trying to add sieve support for our users. We enabled managesieve and users can define rules from the webmail (roundcube) with sieverules plugin for roundcube. Everything goes ok, but here's a problem I couldn't figure yet. When I define a redirect rule, the mail is forwarded but a local copy is stored too. Weird thing is

courier-dovecot-migrate.pl and courier-5: UTF-8 flag
Hi, Courier to dovecot migration script https://dovecot.org/tools/courier-dovecot-migrate.pl referenced at the https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Courier page has a couple of problems. One of them is that the script could not process courierpop3dsizelist generated by courier-5. File format has been changed a bit to mark UTF-8 messages with an additional attribute. Is it safe to ignore such flag

Migration from Courier to dovecot
hi list, I've just registered to the list, so please be tolerant ;) I'm currently in the process of planning the migration from courier to dovecot as POP/IMAP-Server. I'm migration from Courier 0.58 (Debian-Etch-packages) to Dovecot 1.1.13 (Debian Lenny Backport). The conversion of the Mailbox from Courier to Dovecot will be done with "courier-dovecot-migrate.pl"-script[1],

How do you scale dovecot for good performance with Roundcube webmailer in front? (hitting limits without exhausting resources)
Good day, I am currently setting up/debugging a webmailer-only setup using Roundcube (latest version) with Dovecot (2.3.20, latest as of now). Generally speaking the setup performs OK, I wrote a JMeter Roundcube script to test the Roundcube. This includes actions like listing mails and fetching them. I am hitting a somehow dubious limit of 600 req/s though. (This includes all kinds of HTTP calls

Newbie question
Hi, my name is Andr?s Rusconi, from Tucum?n, Argentina. Sorry my English, please. I am a very happy new user of Dovecot: I gained speed and simplicity with him. But I noticed that in clients who use Outlook, the deleted messages do not copy to the trash folder. This is not critical, but did not happen with Courier, and the users askme about this behavior. If some of you has somehow solved this

migrating from Courier
I've been running postfix/courier-ssl/MySQL/postfixadmin for years, but since I am in the process of building a new server I decide to reexamine my options. I'm sticking with postfix, but I've decided to move from courier to dovecot because everyone is telling me it's much faster, and I really dislike courier's SASL setup and integration with other services. Of course, I have

I used the courier-dovecot-migrate.pl script suggested in http://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Courier to convert mailboxes from Courier to Dovecot. No problems here. Re: Courier to Dovecot Maildir conversion
We went through a courier to dovecot conversion. There are a couple of things that might be causing this problem. 1. Dovecot namespaces 2. Client configuration Your namespaces might not be taking into account the fact that courier prefixed all files and directories in the maildir with a dot (.). You can get around this a couple of ways. We had almost no IMAP clients under courier, so
