CentOS 6.5, dovecot 2.0.9-7 I used http://www.linuxmail.info/postfix-dovecot-ldap-centos-5/ to configure LDAP authentication for postfix and dovecot. I can log in to dovecot via IMAP, but it cannot read messages. It does wind up creating alternate directories though: [joliver at localhost ~]$ sudo ls -l /var/vmail/ total 8 drwx------. 3 vmail vmail 4096 Sep 10 15:00 testuser1 drwx------. 3

Hi I keep on getting errors and can't connect/login to Dovecot. I did my research but unfortunately without success. It is for sure not ulimit because ulimit is set to unlimited per default already. Still , it complains about "Too many open files" but this is a test system and the service dovecot and postfix have just been started. No one except me is testing on this system.

Hi! Running Dovecot 2.2.36 and authenticating against an OpenLDAP 2.4.45 server. Now since some update of dovecot it will not be able to authenticate your logins after a restart of the LDAP service is restarted without a reboot of the dovecot server. After multiple problems, I managed to get everything working, including LDAP authentication against the (old) Novell LDAP server.
