Bug#705659: Xen scripts use old-skool "ip" command syntax
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.1.4-2
Severity: minor
The syntax that the scripts use prevents one from creating a vif named
"dev", for example. Attached is a patch for one script, but the syntax
that skips using the "dev" keyword is present in other scripts, like
vif-bridge.

Caller ID questions
Hello Folks;
I have a dilemma:
I have a client with Asterisk 1.4x and he needs to have a record of all
incoming calls - caller ID and date/time is sufficient. Since I am not
an Asterisk wizard, I am doing it this way.
I set a cron job to tailf the last 10 lines of the Master.csv file and
package those nicely in an email. However, I can see some inefficiencies
in this. Main one is what if

What's the deal with connecting back to the client on port 445?
hi list,
I'm a bit of an old skool Samba user, have started using it back in
the dark 0.9-ish days. To that end, the ports 137, 138 and 139 and
burned deep into my neurons. I've just recently upgraded everything to
3.0.10 (the oldest Samba installation running was 2.2.3).
I've seen a lot of garbage disappear from the Network Neighborhood,
which is a good thing. One thing, however,

Setting session variables and expiration issue.
Hello,
I''m having some difficulty with using sessions. Basically, I''d like to
be able to store a hash in an action:
def action
session[:details] = {:value => some_hash, :session_path => "/main"}
end
I''d like to be able to retrieve the hash in another action under the
same "main" controller. I retrieve it by doing the following:

Please: Desperately Seeking Session expiration (DRbStore)
Hello,
this is killing me: i can''t find a way to let idle sessions expire after a
certain period of time. If they don''t expire, they will pile up until there''s no
more memory available.
Please, can anybody give me a hint?
Basically, all I need is a hash or list with all the sessions in DRbStore.
Greetings

session cookie expiration
from the Agile Book, i see i can set the absolute session expiry time via:
ActionController::CGIRequest::DEFAULT_SESSION_OPTIONS[:session_expires]
however, I don''t see anything about what the actual default setting is when
a session is created.
also, is there a way to set the expiration to happen when the browser is
closed?
in PHP, this can be accomplished using

Setting password expiration policy
Can I use samba-tool to globally set passwords to never expire like this:
/usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool domain passwordsettings set --max-pwd-age=0
Or do I have to set max age to some positive value and set expiration in ADUC when creating each user as "Password
never expires"?

smbldap and password expiration
Greetings,
I just recently set up a new server with samba and openldap authentication using smbldap. The passwords seem to be expiring after about 30 days. How do I set them so that they don't expire?
Thanks,

Session Expiration Problem: How to keep a user logged in for
How do I keep the Rails session from expiring when the browser exits? I
would ideally like the user to be logged for a few days (e.g. 2 weeks).
Do I use the Rails "session" or "cookies"? Also, my understanding is
that session[:session_expires] doesn''t work.
Thanks.

NIS expiration of passwords
Dear all,
I have a NIS server which shares a database of users between some
computers (nodes exactly) and I would like that, on the first login,
the user changes its password.
So, on the NIS server I have made: chage -d 0 USER
Then:
# cd /var/yp
# make
On the NIS server I have:
chage -l USER
Last password change : password
must be changed

Samba-LDAP Password Expiration Email Script?
Hi All,
I am currently running Samba with an OpenLDAP backend. I would like to be able to have a script run that would look at the sambaPwdLastSet attribute, compare it to the current time and then if needed...email the user a reminder to change their password. I have never written any scripts that reference the LDAP directory, so I'm hoping there is something out there that I can modify or

password expiration
How are people handling password expirations in (non-pam) openssh?
I'm currently running a program in the various startup scripts that
reports to the user when their password will expire and runs passwd if
that date is getting close. How are other people dealing with this?
Is anyone working on integrating password changing into openssh? Is
doing so even desired, since it's fairly trivial
