Migrating domain using IMAPc
Hi list, I'm trying to do a domain migration using the imapc feature, but i'm having some problems and I really don't know what is happening. So if you guys could help me with a path to solve this, I will be glad. I'm using Dovecot 2.1.7 in a Debian Wheezy machine. The command I'm using is: dsync -Dv -o imapc_features=rfc822.size -o imapc_host=IP -o imapc_port=143 -o

Convert replica 2 to replica 2+1 arbiter
gluster volume add-brick volname replica 3 arbiter 1 brickhost:brickpath/to/new/arbitervol Yes. The replica 3 looks odd. Somewhere in 3.12 (?) or not until v4 a change in command will happen so it won't count the arbiter as a replica. Convert replica 2 to replica 2+1 arbiter
Hi! I am using GlusterFS on CentOS7 with glusterfs-3.8.15 RPM version. I currently have a replica 2 running and I would like to get rid of the split-brain problem before it occurs. This is one of the possible solutions. Is it possible to and an arbiter to this volume? I have read in a thread from 2016 that this feature is planned for version 3.8. Is the feature available? If so, could you give

libgfapi failover problem on replica bricks
Hello, I'm having an issue with rebooting bricks holding images for live KVM machines (using libgfapi). I have a replicated+distributed setup of 4 bricks (2x2). The cluster contains images for a couple of kvm virtual machines. My problem is that when I reboot a brick containing a an image of a VM, the VM will start throwing disk errors and eventually die. The gluster volume is made like

puppet master replica in different data center and subnet
Any suggestions on the best way to configure a puppet master replica/puppet HA/failover in different data center and subnet? Thought about masterless puppet, but seems like it is only good for some number of puppet agents. Thanks, Myra -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. To view this discussion on the web visit

Why does geo-replication stop when a replica member goes down
Hi, We are testing glusterfs. We have a setup like this: Site A: 4 nodes, 2 bricks per node, 1 volume, distributed, replicated, replica count 2 Site B: 2 nodes, 2 bricks per node, 1 volume, distributed georeplication setup: master: site A, node 1. slave:site B, node 1, ssh replicasets on Site A: node 1, brick 1 + node 3, brick 1 node 2, brick 1 + node 4, brick 1 node 2, brick 2 + node 3, brick

Expand replicated bricks to more nodes/change replica count
Hi list I have set up several volumes on a two-node Gluster setup using "replica 2" configurations. I would like to add two more nodes to the trusted pool so that all volumes are replicated on 4 nodes. I wonder if that can be done online, but after doing some research on this I didn't find evidence that it's possible to change the replica count _after_ the volume has been

winbind doesn't follow updateref in replica ldap server
Hello all, I have setup an HA cluster running under Debian GNU/Linux with samba 3.0.7, openldap 2.0.23 with two machines. Each machine runs winbindd and slapd. One additionally runs slurpd to replicate to the other. Replication works but winbind seems to add entries on the secondary ldap server and not follow the updateref given from the server. This is a problem since the ldap database run

preferred replica?
Hi - this topic has been discussed before on the list and options to implement have changed (read-subvolume, consistent-metadata, choose-local, read-hash-mode, etc all seemingly targeting only reads not writes) a couple times; is there a recommended option in the current (3.8.x) release to instruct a client to pick a, and only the, local replica - for whatever available definition of

New halo for "simple" 2 nodes asynchronous replica (async master-master)
Hi, is it possible to use the new "halo" feature to create a replica 2 volume on 2 bricks that are located in 2 different regions (10+ ms latency) so to be able to write to both nodes from each region without the need to a synchronous confirmation of the other node? Does this page includes the most up to date /complete docs about that feature?

problems creating read-only, 'consumer' dirsrv replica
Hello, I am trying to deploy an additional read-only replica (aka. 'consumer') in a single-master dirsrv environment. The master, and the other pre-existing consumer servers, are all 'fedora-ds' running on Fedora 7. I'm trying to add a consumer running on Centos 5.5. Ultimately, I intend to replace the Fedora ds servers with Centos dirsrv servers. I'm trying to deploy

openldap: replica consumers and ppolicy overlay values
I'm trying to setup OpenLDAP on CentOS7, in a provider/consumer relationship. In general, provider/consumer is working quite well, except when it comes to password policy. Specifically, I want PwdFailureTime to be written to the provider from one of the front end consumers when appropriate. I'm lead to believe this requires: a) ppolicy_foward_updates TRUE (done) b) an appropriate

Samba, LDAP and replica
Hi Guys, I have six Linux Servers running Samba 3 as PDC of our domain, in different locations. They are integrated through LDAP (which is configured to replicate over our VPN) and all responds to the same domain. So, wherever the user is, he will log in the same domain name. Now I'am planning to migrate to Samba 4. As Samba 4 manages it?s LDAP internally, what is the best approach to keep

Change replica count
Hi all, I am prepared to use gluster as HOME directory. I find the replica count of one volume has to be set while creating. I wonder if possible to change it when the volume began to run. Other system, eg, MFS support replica count modification on runtime. If gluster also support this function, please let me know. Thank you very much in advance. Regards, yaodong 2010-12-16
