Access to add a r300_reg database to rules-ng?
Hi, I'm working with Oliver McFadden to create a rules-ng database for the Radeon R300 (and beyond..) I've taken some of the work that he had done, and have been slowly adding more Radeon registers. I also created a new 'test-r300' app based on the one included in the static-db to test the decode of radeon registers. I would like this to be under version control, and the

Hacking 3D on the NV17
Hi, I recently got access to an old NV17 card (my wife's old laptop) , and I would like to start hacking. I grabbed the 1/20/08 fedora DRM + nouveau driver packages from hughsie's fedora repo. http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/fedora/8/i386/ (Shame on me, I didn't build from git) I installed mesa with: 'git clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/mesa/mesa', and

Ouch, part reset, quickly
Ouch, part reset, quickly restoring reality (0) Power alarm on module 1, resetting! I have looked though a lot of email on this issue, and no one seems to have the answer. How many people are seeing this on a TDM400 card? Does anyone have a "REAL" answer to it. Yes, I do have the power connected to it! Regards Garry Taylor

Problem with widescreen display
I have a dual boot CentOS 5.2 / FC4 machine, and recently I have bought a new widescreen tft monitor. I used to use a plain 4:3 crt, and after plugging the 16:9 tft naturally X needed reconfiguring. This was easy in FC4, and seemed as easy in CentOS, but with a wrong result. Basically, what I did was to run system-config-display to reconfigure for the new monitor and resolution. All goes

Configuring 1440 x 900 LCD Monitor
CentOS 4.4 Kernel Release 2.6.9-42.0.3.EL Monitor: ViewSonic VX1935WM Video Adapter: Intel 82945 G Express KDE 3.3 Greetings I am attempting to configure my ViewSonic VX1935WM widescreen monitor. Unfortunately this model is not listed in the Display Settings. I have attempted the generic 1440 x 900 LCD monitor listed. This does not provide the required resolution. I have edited

Widescreen monitor won't configure to a wide screen
I just put a 1680x1050 LCD monitor on my home system, and I went into system-config-display to configure it as such, and it just won't take. I had to tweak some of the settings by hand, but when I log out, I get the wide screen for both the Nvidia driver splash screen and the login screen. But, when I log in, It jumps back to 1280x1024 and refuses to run in wide screen mode. Here's the

Problems with widescreen (16:9) under CentOS 5 w/ xorg-x11-drv-i810-1.6.5-9.40.el5
I am the tech guy for a local library. We have a network containing several diskless workstations. The hardware are these P4 boxes: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SAMBA845V-24-4-R&cat=SYS (We have inserted additional memory, bringing most of the machines up to 1.25Gig of memory, and two up to 2Gig of memory.) These little machines have integrated Intel video chips on their

No 3D in KDE, other effects work
In Ubuntu 7.10 with KDE, I have compiz running under XGL. Although Beryl ran fine in Ubuntu 7.04, Compiz will not enable 3D effects such as wobbly windows. Other effects, such as minimize/restore animations, work properly. The machine is a Dell Inspiron 6400 / E1505 laptop, 2Ghz Intel DuoCore2, 2GB RAM, ATI X1400, 1680x1050 widescreen. What should I begin to troubleshoot? Thanks in advance.

I think of a layout like in the centos wiki: https://wiki.centos.org/Screenshots?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=screenshot-c7-widescreen.png With panels I mean the lines on top and bottom of a desktop. Suggestions for Theora
Hi, I have some suggestions for Theora:1) Theora should have a feature like adobe flash does that enables direct end user to end user peering which decreases a server's bandwidth usage and cost. Read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_Media_Flow_Protocol Theora should go one step further and support file sharing. 2) Theora should have a plugin for the safari web browser that runs

Screen Resolution issues
Hi. I'm having a rather peculiar problem; when running any fullscreen game that has been set to a smaller resolution than the one I'm using (1680x1050, I have a widescreen monitor), moving my mouse to the edges of the screen kind of shifts the view. For example, I have Warcraft III running at 1280x960, I move my mouse to the right edge of the screen, and then the view moves along with

Widescreen monitor with Intel G965 graphics chipset
I just migrated my working Fedora Core 8 desktop to CentOS 5.1 and went from my nice 1680x1050 resolution to 1280x1024. I have made all the possible xorg.conf changes I found on the net to no avail. I tried system-config-display ?reconfig and it allows me to pick the resolution but reverts back to 1280x1024 in X? Anyone know what might need to be done in CentOS for this to work? The skewed aspect

get widescreen 1280x800 for intel 965GM chipset
Dear All, I come from FreeBSD world. This is my first time setting up a CentOS on my laptop Dell Vostro 1400 with intel 965GM chipset. I am having problem here and need your help. I have 5.1 release installed. I have trouble to get 1280x800 resolution. The driver used is I810. I don't know if the chipset is too new for the xorg driver, and can anyone tell me if there is a fix, maybe with
