x2go on CentOS6
Has anyone managed to get the x2go server working on CentOS 6.7? I started testing x2go from EPEL under 6.6, and it worked well. Then I didn't use it in 6 months plus, eventually upgraded the machine to 6.7, and it's no longer working. Both Windows and Linux clients error out with "Connection failed. 0: Event not found." A Linux client run with the debug option reports:

X2go server on Centos7, any success?
Folks I have been unable to get X2go to work on a Centos 7 server. I have tried both the out-of-the-box GNOME desktop and the Xfce as well. In both cases, the view from the client is that the screen starts to appear, then goes away. On the server, I see the following messages in /var/log/messages (I have erased the user name and replaced it with XXX). The server is running as a virtual

x2go is not able to start x2go sessions
Hi everyone. Since a few days I can't connect with a server via x2go. I get the following error message: Connection failed. Failed to start X2Go Agent session with ID stefsimo-60-1560249248_stDMATE_dp24. X2Go Agent terminated unexpectedly. Aborting session startup. Did you get the same error? cat /etc/centos-release CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 (Core) cat /proc/version Linux version

Problems with x2go
I have installed x2goserver on a Centos8 server. Yesterday, after the installation I was able to connect by means of x2go. Today I get the following error ( /var/log/messages) /usr/bin/x2gostartagent[2677]: no free display number available, cannot start new session. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks. Bye Stefano

x2go (vs. freenx)?
Is anyone using x2go on Centos - and if so, is there any reason to think about switching from freenx? The old NX client for mac was a powerpc binary and is no longer supported under mountain lion - and their new alpha release crashed my mac after an OSX update so I'm curious if there is anything better around. (And I didn't like the way the new mac version changed the screen scaling

/etc/locale.conf is ignored
It seems that /etc/locale.conf is ignored in Centos 7. As a traditionalist who prefers things sorted lexicographically rather than indiscriminately with case ignored and dates to be displayed in the form "Sep 11 2008", I have always added lines to this file: $ cat /etc/locale.conf LANG="en_US.UTF-8" # Fix collating sequence for sort and ls export LC_COLLATE=C #

r8712u wireless driver
I've just installed centos 6.3 for the first time on a test machine and couldn't be happier - except that a critical wireless adapter driver is missing - the r8712u. I would love to convert my mythtv machine from Fedora 17 to centos 6.3 to put all that chaos and instability behind me. My mythtv machine connects only wirelessly to the rest of my network and uses a Rosewill RNX-N180UBE USB

Freenx/x2go on CentOS7?
Can anyone comment on the best remote GUI approach for C7 yet? X2goserver is in epel but when I tried it on the RHEL beta it only worked with a KDE desktop due to the 3d requirement of Gnome3. -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell at gmail.com

Thanks, Akemi, you have hit the nail on the head! The spurious error message was caused by a statement in .cshrc that created output, a stray unescaped exclamation mark in an alias definition. And that with me preaching to my

Centos 7 License???
Today I did a yum upgrade to my kvm'ized Centos 7 test machine (perhaps a bad day to do such a thing) and received new kernel vmlinuz-3.10.0-229.1.2.el7.x86_64, among many other things. When I rebooted, I was asked to confirm (or renew, or some such) my license. My LICENSE ??? I was booting in text mode and the actions required were a) unfamiliar, and b) hard to understand. As I recall, I

RADIUS is just an authentication (plus a bit more) protocol - what you are asking is like asking how LDAP can be used.
