Resizing ext4 fedora qemu guest
Hi,
I have a fedora14 host with a fedora15 guest and I'm trying to resize
the /home partition from 200GB to 240GB. I'm relatively new to the
virsh/guestfish commands, as well as LVM, although I think I have a
reasonable understanding. I have followed the virt-resize directions
(http://libguestfs.org/virt-resize.1.html), but it still shows 200GB:
# fdisk -l /dev/mapper/vg_custserv-lv_home

EFS crypted files and smbclient.
Is there a way to get a NTFS encrypted file using smbclient (even not
decrypted) so It can be backed up using backuppc
(http://backuppc.sourceforge.net) ?
I have exported the NTFS keys in a pfx file. could it help copy the file?
the aim is that files must be crypted on laptops hard drive so if it is stolen
then no data is compromised. Having the file not crypted on the backup server

show crypted password??
In authlogic, I set the password field to "crypted password"
Is there a way to display a password, even if its "crypted"? What if
the user forgets the password and needs to recover it? How can I
recover a crypted password?
Thanks

lost a lvm after update to Centos6.6
Hello All,
the update to Centos6.6 got interrupted on a laptop.
I then did this:
package-cleanup --cleandupes
yum-complete-transaction
and remove and reinstall the latest kernel.
I now get an error message when booting:
/dev/mapper/vg_jvermeulen-lv_home does not exist.
I can boot into single user mode and run all commands.
in fdisk -l .....lv_home is not listed.
How can I re-add this?
I do

Sluggish server with big array
Hi!
I am experiencing strange behavior with my new CentOS 6.3
installation (system up to date). I have a big 11 TB EXT4 array mounted
on /home/data. The server is a Tyan 2U (TA26-B3992-E) with Dual Opteron
2216, one cpu has 4 Gigs RAM and the other has 8 Gigs (so 12 Gigs
total). The server uses 8 x Seagate 2TB SAS hard disks (7200 RPM) and
all the disks are grouped together to form 1

extension of rsync on crypted files
Hello,
I am a french student and I have written a technical report on an extension of the rsync algorithm to crypted files.
I started from the situation of a client machine A user who doesn't wish to save an original file v0 and its successive versions v1 v2 v3 ... on a distant server B but rather to save the private ciphering of these files on the server. Let C be the cipher algorithm and

Dear All,
I am in desperate need for LVM data rescue for my server.
I have an VG call vg_hosting consisting of 4 PVs each contained in a

And this LV: lv_home was created to use all the space of the 4 PVs.
Right now, the third hard drive is damaged; and therefore the third PV
(/dev/sdc1) cannot be accessed anymore. I would like

[Sentry]-before_validation(model) not working for crypted-attribute?
I am still trying to get sentry working to encrypt a couple of
attributes in the model. One of them is a password field and the other
ssn#.
I have crypted_password and crypted_ssn in the db.
In addition, I also have validates_uniqueness_of :ssn
Here is the problem... I get the error

ext3 over aes crypted loopback on partition
I'm looking at running an ext3 filesystem on top of a loopback AES
encrypted device, which in turn is on top of a raw partition (so no
other things in the way that should be reordering writes).
Are there likely to be any strange issues with using ext3 in this way?
Nigel.

"order" issue
Hi everybody, this is a real dummy thing.
I sorted a matrix based on a given column, and what I get is right, until it comes to columns of negative and positive values; than, "order" orders everything from max to min in the negative values, and then AGAIN from max to min in the positive values!!!
Why isn't everything order from max to min, and that's it?
Thank you!!!

Issue mounting /home area from NAS server
Hi,
Just before the Thanksgiving break, we enabled quotas on
the /home areas on the mseas-data server (running CentOS 5.8),
using the following line in the updated /etc/fstab
/dev/mapper/the_raid-lv_home /home ext3
defaults,usrquota,grpquota 1 0
Following the Thanksgiving reboot of mseas-data we have been
experiencing problems with svn on mseas (our front-end machine,
