error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U instance on CentOS5.1 x64
Nah, RHEL 5.1+ supports 32-bit domU (PAE and non PAE) on 64-bit dom0. Actually RHEL Xen is 3.1 with the brain damaged 3.0 userland utilities. -Ross ----- Original Message ----- From: centos-bounces at centos.org <centos-bounces at centos.org> To: CentOS mailing list <centos at centos.org> Sent: Fri Feb 29 04:46:42 2008 Subject: Re: [CentOS] error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U

Well, take it over to CentOS-virt, attach the config of the guest and I'm sure someone will spot the problem. -Ross ----- Original Message ----- From: centos-bounces at centos.org <centos-bounces at centos.org> To: CentOS mailing list <centos at centos.org> Sent: Fri Feb 29 08:48:42 2008 Subject: Re: [CentOS] error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U instance on CentOS5.1x64 Ross S.

SELinux and SETroubleshootd woes in CR
I'm setting up a dedicated database server, and since this will be a central service to my various web servers I wanted it to be as secure as possible...so I am leaving SELinux enabled. However I'm having trouble getting Apache to use mod_auth_pam. I also now can't get setroubleshootd working to send me notifications of the denials and provide tips to solve the problem. The Apache

Why the data got from "top" and "xentop" are different?
Hi All, I''m a beginner in Xen. Recently I''ve configured one VM (vm03) hosted in my physical machine. I ran the "netperf" workload in the vm01, and used the "top" command in the vm03 to test the behavior of the running workload. Meanwhile, I also used the "xentop" command in domain0 to see the resource consumption in vm03. Interestingly, I found that

RLIMIT_MEMLOCK in container environment
Hi all, KubeVirt uses libvirtd to manage qemu VMs represented as Kubernetes API resources. In this case, libvirtd is running inside an unprivileged pod, with some host mounts / capabilities added to the pod, needed by libvirtd and other services. One of the capabilities libvirtd requires for successful startup inside a pod is SYS_RESOURCE. This capability is used to adjust RLIMIT_MEMLOCK ulimit

looking for kernel sources
Hi all I'm looking for the linux source files for CentOS 5.1 2.6.18-53.el5. To install VirtualBox, I apparently need the kernel sources, and even after installing kernel-devel & kernel-headers via yum I still get an error saying I need the kernel-sources [root at gimbli ~]# ll /usr/src/kernels/ total 4 drwxr-xr-x 18 root root 4096 Mar 4 10:57 2.6.18-53.1.13.el5-x86_64 lrwxrwxrwx 1

GSSAPI and deny=yes passdb
Hi. Is it possible to use GSSAPI authentication and deny passdb together? Seems it doesn't work as I expect: GSSAPI doesn't check deny passdb, so I'm not able to restrict access to GSSAPI-users. I can see these in logs when user tries to connect with PLAIN authentication (via pam_krb5): Oct 4 11:14:31 vm03 auth: Debug: passwd-file(testuser,172.17.0.123): lookup: user=testuser

about: memory allocation and the balloon list
Dear all I use the command( xm mem-set ID mem ) trying to understand the memory allocation between the Dom0 and the Guests(vm), but there is still some confusion about this. As the above /proc/xen/balloon list I set xm mem-set Domain-0 128 and changing the vm memory from 256 to 128: xm mem-set vm01 128 (...from vm01 to vm08) before mem-setCurrent allocation: 427792 kB

Puppet + Passenger SELinux issues
I recently setup my Puppetmaster server to run through Passenger via Apache instead of on the default webrick web server. SELinux made that not work and I've found some documentation on making rules to allow it however mine won't load. This is the policy I found via this website, http://sandcat.nl/~stijn/2012/01/20/selinux-passenger-and-puppet-oh-my/comment-page-1/ . module
