Can anyone compile mtr source RPM on CentOS 6.7?
Hi all,
I was trying to rebuild mtr
(http://vault.centos.org/6.7/os/Source/SPackages/mtr-0.75-5.el6.src.rpm)
and I keep getting:
====
Executing(%install): /bin/sh -e /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.gu9Ds0
+ umask 022
+ cd /root/rpmbuild/BUILD
+ '[' /root/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/mtr-0.75-5.el6.x86_64 '!=' / ']'
+ rm -rf /root/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/mtr-0.75-5.el6.x86_64

virt-manager like tool for Android
Hi all,
I use virt-manager as a way to give customers direct access to their
(virtual) servers. This is important for things like OS installs or when
do admin work where the network is down. This means I have to install a
little linux machine though as none of my clients are linux shops.
So I got to wondering; If I understand, virt-manager is more or less
a hypervisor-aware VNC client,

The future of centos
Almost everyone here has probably read this by now. If so, move along,
nothing new here. But just in case you haven't, please take the time to
read this.
Here it is, in their own words: what Redhat thinks of Centos, and it's
plans for the future of Centos.
Can you read between the lines? In this case, it isn't very hard to do,
IMHO.

Virtualization Options!
Hi,
I'm searching for "virtualization options". I already take a look on
VMware, but it needs too much MS software to work for my needs. Citrix needs
less, but the key validation is still MS-AD.
Now I'm taking a look at RHEV... and run into Oracle VM! Somebody had already
take a look at Oracle VM?
We need in primary a solid VM solution for an "enterprise

Clustering and ha planning
Hello , Centos users:
My name is Leandro, I have been using Centos for 4 years and this is the
first post in this mail list.
I would like to study and introduce myself in clustering and high
availability for Centos, currently I have not experience at all about it.
I would like to ask about the newest method to achieve high availability
, load balancing on linux / Centos.
So far I have seen the

I see Johnny Hughes has released CR-updates for CentOS 6.
Is CentOS 6.4 brewing yet then? 8-)

OT: Bittorrent clients
Hi all,
Just switched my home computer from Windows 7 to CentOS 6.6 and I'm having a slight bit of trouble with the bittorrent-clients.
* Transmission is fine but lacks "a bit" in features.
* Vuze is my preferred bt-client but gives me horrendous gfx-artifacts, like not showing the torrent name (it's white text on a white background or some such...).
* Deluge is better, and

CentOS-6 updates
We are currently building and testing our CentOS-6.6 release. It
normally takes about 2-4 weeks for us to get a full point release out.
We can not release updates that are based on 6.6 until we get 6.6 out.
All current updates will be released on the same day as the release.
We have a CR repo (
http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/Repositories/CR ) and we are
likely going to release the

high availability ideas
Hi,
I'm looking for some recommendations. I need to have some sort of high
availability for a set of php & mysql web sites, they must be hosted on 2
servers, in separate data centres and obviously on differrent IPs.
I can't use a load balancer because that will introduce a single point of
failure making the "distributed setup" useless. I was thinking some sort of

wow, $9100 for the 38U rack. thats pricey... and that's before PDUs,
UPS, and all that other important rack mount stuff.

Yes , 7.2k rpm disks. 2T mirror (soft). In fact, I had such a
preference for slightly more capacity.
