Ulimit problem - CentOS 5.10
Running across some curious stuff with ulimit on CentOS 5.10. We have a non CentOS packaged version of Asterisk (using their packages) that we start at boot time with a typical RC script. Recently it started whining that it couldn't open enough file handles. As we dug further into this, it appears that at boot time, it inherits ulimit from init, which is pretty low: 1024. We've set

Samba 4.3.11 on FreeBSD-10.3 - Firefox problem on Win7Pro
We have recently converted our users from a Windows2000Advanced Server AD-DC to a Samba-4.3.11. AD-DC. For the most part this went very well, saving only for the degree of ignorance respecting things MicroSoft evidenced by myself. However, one of our users persistently reports difficulties with their roaming profile. Specifically, their Firefox profile. This did not occur before the change-over

Making a bootable Win7 DVD from an ISO
I would like to create a bootable DVD containing Win7 from an official Microsoft ISO that I have on a CentOS-6.5 box. Is this even possible? If so then how is it done using CentOS? If I must create a Win7 repair disk on a Windows machine then this will be possible, but somewhat logistically challenging. I would much rather just get it done with the tools I have to hand. -- ***

Windows 7 Offline Files (CSC) not syncing from Samba 3.4.0 PDC
Hi All, I've been running a Samba 3.4.0 on Ubuntu 9.10 for over a year at a friend's office and it has been extremely stable. But I've suddenly hit a scenario where Windows 7 clients can no longer properly sync the main share as 'Offline Files' I found it highly unreliable under Vista Business, then Win7Pro seemed to work much better; but suddenly I am finding that

MS-Win7 kvm guest gets dhcp from host bridge
CentOS-6.5 i86_64 qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.415.el6_5.4 MS-Windows v7proSP1 We have installed a MicroSoft Win7 system as a guest and have joined it to our MS AD domain. The system runs and has internet access. However, the IPv4 address it obtains and the gateway it is assigned are both sourced from the virtual machine host system and not from our AD DC DHCP server. To clarify, the virbr0 IP address

Samba-4.3 AD-DC Win7pro clients not time syncing
We have a Samba-4.3 AD-DC hosted on a FreeBSD-10.3 system. We have just discovered that for some reason our domain workstations are not synchronising their time with the AD-DC. We have not altered the default GPO nor have we created a special GPO to handle time services. I have been working on several of the domain clients and I cannot seem to get them to source from the Samba server. I have
