centos7 livecd yum problem
I started to install centos7 using a livecd image. After booting the cd I tried a "yum install mc" which failed. I then tried "yum update" and got the following output.
"[liveuser at localhost ~]$ sudo yum update

The only thing that makes this tricky is that you can?t just say ?rpm -e kernel? because there is more than one ?kernel? package installed.? You need to know the exact package name.

dia under CentOS7
I've added dia to my repo nux-dextop.
BTW LibreOffice Draw can be used as well (with the added bonus that it can also do Visio files AFAIK).

[PATCH] edit-livecd in python
This is the second generation of the edit-livecd tool that replaces our
original bash script with a python version and aims to reuse as much as
the livecd-creator libraries as possible. The main reason for the new
creator class is to avoid the need for a kisckstart file in order to
edit an existing livecd image.
edit-livecd is useful for people who don't have the development and yum

Issues booting centos7 [dracut is failing to enable centos/root, centos/swap LVs]
Hello,
I'm having a strange problem booting a new centos7 installation. Below some
background on this. [I have attached the tech details at the bottom of this
message]
I started a new CentOS7 installation on a VM, so far all good, o/s boots
fine. Then I decided to increase VM disk size (initially was 10G) to 13G.
Powered off the VM, increased the vhd via the hypervisor, booted from

how to use livecd-creator to create my own livecd iso as same as offical release iso?
Hello list,
I use the livecd-creator to customize my own livecd iso. I use the
kickstart config file from
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CentOS/sig-core-livemedia/master/kickstarts/centos-7-livecd.cfg.
#livecd-creator -v --config centos-7-livecd.cfg --cache
/var/cache/livecd
finally I got a iso, but the iso is strange.
The offical distribution iso is

Where can CentOS7 yum-cron logs be found?
I'm trying to setup two CentOS7 systems with automatic security updates to run
as my kubernetes nodes. I've also centralized all my outgoing mail through my
mailgun service, so I've been using the cli tool "mailx", which I have configured
with my credentials. Coming from Fedora32 and CentOS7, dnf-automatic had a
helpful emission target that was "email_command". By

problem booting (Fedora) LiveCD ISO over PXELINUX
This is an issue I've researched quite a bit on bug lists, and looked
in the Syslinux Wiki for a way to do this, but haven't yet found a
solution.
1) I have an existing Fedora 13 LiveCD which I burned to a CD and
tested on a system without issue.
2) I then took that same ISO and dropped it in my pxelinux.cfg/default
for being able to boot over the network. I made sure to extract the

Updated livecd building tool
I updated the livecd-tools package from version 013 to 014. This update
introduces new interesting features like :
- support for Xen kernel
- built-in md5sum into the resulting LiveCD ISO
- a new API
See https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/wiki/GetToolset for
instructions on how to get this updated toolset.
Since it is a major update, I expect some bugs. I am looking for
feedback from

[PATCH node-image] Fix edit-livecd to re-create ext2 filesystem each time
Old edit-livecd just kept adding to the ext2 fs image which meant
it never decreased in size even if files were removed.
New functionality does multiple passes of ext2fs creation. First pass
creates a new ext2fs from the image file inside the squashfs. This
first pass is to allow the user to optionally increase the filesystem
size. If the -s parameter is omitted the existing size is used and
