答复: CentOS 7 docs, tutorials, etc...
Perhaps RHEL/CentOS 7 are something different, however, they just change a little, their base used are similar. On a gnome desktop, if you want to add a shortcut to the desktop, you can reference xxx.desktop in /usr/share/application/ , than write some similar xxx. desktop which you prefer and cp to the desktop directory ? it's really useful..

CentOS 7 User Manager Tool
I have CentOS 7 installed with GUI (Gnome 3.8.4) and I'm trying to
follow the guide at
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/html/System_Administrators_Guide/s1-users-configui.html
it speaks of "System > Administration" from the GUI or
"system-config-users" from the command line, but I can't find either? I
don't have a

VNCServer Startup Config
hi all,
I've inherited a server with CentOS 6.4
the VNC Server starts up with the OS and its screen resolution is set to
800x600.
I found that I can set the resolution by specifying the -geometry
switch, but I can't find where the call to start the vncserver is set in
order to change it.
I know that it's not in /etc/xinetd.d (the only file there is rsync)

running tomcat as non-root user.. (/var/run pidfile issue)
hey folks, we are migrating our tomcat setup over to centos 7. Im
converting init-scripts over to systemd services and whatnot.. One thing
that Ive noticed is that my systemd startup script cant seem to write to
/var/run as a non-root user to drop a pidfile.. If I create a directory
in /var/run owned by my user, it gets wiped out on reboot.
Ive searched and found this

systemd-coredump service
I am unable to locate systemd-coredump service on CentOS 7.5. It is not
listed under "systemctl -a" and also I'm unable to locate the associated
unit file (folder /usr/lib/systemd/system/ ). Am I missing any package
which installs this service?

Systemd persistent change to service file
Hi All,
I had my database fall over earlier, Initially I thought it was due to a
change in the OS but the postgresql update overwrote my systemd service
file.
How can I create a file for my postgresql service that will not be
overwritten when updates are applied?
Am I correct in thinking it will be something like
vi /etc/systemd/system/postgresql.service.d/postgresql-limit-stack.conf

Making systemd start a service after sshd?
Hi folks,
For complicated reasons, I'd like to have a service (lightdm) start
after sshd starts. (This is on CentOS 7.) I've tried adding "sshd.service"
to the lists of "Active=" and "Require=" items in
/etc/systemd/system/lightdm.service (which started as a copy of
/usr/lib/systemd/system/lightdm.service), but these changes don't seem to

NUT on openSUSE 12.3 requires additional systemd service unit
OpenSUSE 12.3 has fully embraced systemd, but to get NUT working correctly
now requires some further systemd engineering in addition to the usual NUT
configuration files. A new systemd service unit is needed to power off
the UPS.
The service unit consists of a new file
/etc/systemd/system/ups-delayed-shutdown.service

Description=Initiate delayed UPS shutdown

Systemd service unit file needs to wait until a specific interface is up
Hi all,
With SystemD, how can I make certain service dependent on certain network interfaces being up?
For example, I have an 802.1ad bond interface I need to wait on for being up (this interface has no ip address assigned, it is used to capture networks packets with a tcpdump?s script). Every time this service fails because bond interface is not up.
I have configured the service as:

Sorry, no. Better not touch the service files in /usr/lib/systemd/system
which ship with the associated packages. You create user custom service
files in /etc/systemd/system/. Easiest by "systemctl edit foo.service".

Systemd and systemd-sysv-generator
Hello CentOS List,
I have a server that has SysV script supplied by a hardware manufacturer,
which is not functioning properly. From my reading, systemd-sysv-generator
should handle them (like it did for Dell OpenManage software which supplied
SysV init scripts).
/usr/lib/systemd/system-generators/systemd-sysv-generator
Takes no or 3 arguments (it tells me), but I didn't find clear

Note: NetworkManager is in CentOS6 too, and is part of the default
workstation install. The NM in CentOS7 is a bit more polished than

systemd-sleep
I found that one of my users' workstation is, for some reason, running
systemd-sleep. I cannot find, anywhere on the system. system-sleep.conf
(or systemd-sleep.conf), nor do I find systemctl status system[d]-sleep.
How can I turn this thing off, other than renaming
/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sleep?

At the very least it introduces a dependency on libsystemd into sshd,
which is undesirable for reasons of security and convenience. The
principle of "you are done when you can not remove any more" confirms
that it is unwise to add dependencies

systemd-sysctl not running on boot
Hey all,
After upgrading to CentOS 7.2, non of my servers run systemd-sysctl on boot.
So far, I tried running manually /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sysctl, it runs
smoothly and updates all the parameters.
I also ran sysctl --system, which also executes successfully.
I checked within systemd, and systemd-sysctl is wanted by the
sysinit.target which is wanted by the multi-user.target - the one I boot
