Centos 5.7, I10 video, 1920x1080 monitor
I have a Centos 5.7 machine with Intel I10 video (built-in, I guess -- this is
one of those all-in-one mini terminal things) that I'm trying to put a new
1920x1080 monitor onto, without conspicuous success. Prior to this it's been
using a smaller monitor with no issues.
Try as I might I can't get the new monitor to run at its 1920x1080 resolution.
I just realized that I forgot to

I have some strange results on my test with nouveau drivers
I'm using a old GeForce4 MX 4000 (NV18) with 128 MB.
I have made 2 test.

New monitor weirdnesses (CentOS 5.11)
I just got a new monitor for my desktop system (the old one died after *many*
years of service). The new monitor is a high res 16:9 monitor, but the VESA video
driver insists on using 1024x768 (which was the resolution of the *old*
monitor). It does seem to detect higher, 16:9 resolutions but it is not using
them. I *think* I need to set some low-level video mode thing, but it has

Is a Network Install ISO planed any time in the near future for CentOS

Yes. You need to have your signaling _exact_ when dealing with LCDs.
Some are very good at taking the timings of VESA standards. But some
support some eccentric Windows timings that are _not_ the exact same
as VESA. Or maybe you have configured your monitor for

NV40 under Debian
Hi list,
my media center PC is freshly installed with Debian 10.2 "Buster". It doesn't support Geforce 6800 GT (NV40) boards through the nvidia nor the nvidia-legacy drivers any longer. The legacy drivers worked up until Debian 9 "Stretch", but no longer.
I know that the hardware works because I can boot SystemRescueCD from CD and get a flawless desktop presentation on
