VNCServer Startup Config
hi all, I've inherited a server with CentOS 6.4 the VNC Server starts up with the OS and its screen resolution is set to 800x600. I found that I can set the resolution by specifying the -geometry switch, but I can't find where the call to start the vncserver is set in order to change it. I know that it's not in /etc/xinetd.d (the only file there is rsync) here are the contents of

答复: CentOS 7 docs, tutorials, etc...
Perhaps RHEL/CentOS 7 are something different, however, they just change a little, their base used are similar. On a gnome desktop, if you want to add a shortcut to the desktop, you can reference xxx.desktop in /usr/share/application/ , than write some similar xxx. desktop which you prefer and cp to the desktop directory ? it's really useful.. ------------------------ Best wishes -----------

Trouble connecting to CentOS 5.0 host sound device from Windows guest on VMWare Workstation 5.5.4
I am running VMWare Workstation 5.5.4 on a CentOS 5.0 host (2.6.18-8.1.4 kernel) and I have been haiving some trouble with my sound device on the Guest Windows XP SP2 OS. modify a data.frame within a function
Hello all, I'm trying to modify a single column of a data frame to remove randomly half of the values. I want to do it within a function, but can not assign the modified column back into the data frame. It was easy and successful without a function, so I suspect the problem is the call of the single column within the function. removedata<-function(datafull,var.removed) { attach(datafull)

R not responding for nested glm model
Hi, I'm trying to perform a glm model on count data (poisson distribution of the errors) where data are nested. glmmodel<-glm(y~x/z,poisson) x and z are factors, z nested within x, y is count data. In that point the R just "stuck" and not respond anymore. I tried glmmodel<-glm(y~x,poisson) and there were no problems. Trying glmmodel<-glm(y~x/z) gave the same no response.

Migrate DC from Small Business Server 2011 to Samba 4
Hello Thor, >From our experience with one client whom had the same situation as you, we first migrated exchange to another mail system then we migrated the AD part. The SBS version we had to migration only allowed a secondary DC for a fixed period of time . The Exchange mail extensions were properly handled by Samba, even if they weren't used anymore. I don't remember the exact

connecting to samba from 2003 sbs domain client running xpprofi
Hi, Addition to my message below.. Computers which doesnt login to the domain controller at startup like windows xp home ed. , dont seem to have this effect. It seems that you have to keep the connection up and running on the xp profi pc's to stop this problem from happening. ??? 3.0.10 works only when logged in locally to XP
I have struggled for a week trying to get domain users to map and/or browse Samba shares without entering a password. If I login to the domain with a WinXP client and try to map or browse a Samba share, I get prompted for user/pass. If I then login with a local machine account (same user/pass) it works. This same configuration also works just fine on W2K clients logged into the domain. I am

Machine-level shares on Windows server
Hi, I have Samba 3.0.22 running on a VM-hosted ubuntu 6.06, with the VM existing to host a Bugzilla server for our development team. I'd like to be able to periodically backup the MySQL database to a remote device on our domain. Intermitent winbind failure resolving groups via nss
Hi all, I have 2 Linux machines running winbind attached to a Windows 2003 server in AD mode to resolve users and groups via nss (nscd is disabled for passwd and group info). In an intermittent way winbind stops resolving group names, for instance the 'id' command returns just the GID and no name for the primary user group and executables trying to resolve members of groups cannot

Migrate DC from Small Business Server 2011 to Samba 4
Hi, I want to migrate a Windows Small Business Server 2011 domain controller to Samba 4. The SBS2011 has about 40 users and 100 client computers. Also about 50 GPOs are in use. Furthermore there is Exchange running on the SBS and it has to stay there for the next couple of month (it will be replaced by a new mail system later). So far I think I can either try to migrate or start from
