debugging T.38 issues
Hello list, We're currently facing some issues concerning T.38 gateway faxing. This is a device used almost exclusively for receiving faxes. Calls are incoming to asterisk on a SIP trunk (sangoma netborder) using G711A. Gateway mode is activated in the asterisk dialplan towards a Cisco SPA 112 running firmware 1.3.5. We are using asterisk 1.8.13.0 with the T.38 gateway patch applied (I know I

Questions about sRTP
Hi all, I'm getting ready to setup SIP/TLS and SRTP. But I have a few questions. The first one is that I was reading an article at: https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-15381 That indicated that Asterisk doesn't support TLS as an OPTIONAL transport. It's either all or nothing. Specifically, this is what it said: ============================================== *Note: There is

FXO recommendation
Hi all, With the gamut of FXO cards out there, I'm looking for a recommendation for home use. I have a nicely working Asterisk 1.4 system that just requires an FXO card to connect my NTL PSTN to it. My previous X101P clone seems to have kicked the bucket. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards Kyle -- Kyle Gordon kyle@lodge.glasgownet.com http://lodge.glasgownet.com

The Cisco/Linksys SPA devices are also able to be provisioned automatically. How to enable T.38 between SPA3102 PSTN Line port and ReceiveFAX app ?
Hello, I've got an analog phone which is currently receiving unsollicited FAX calls from PSTN. For learning purpose, I'm preparing an Asterisk/SPA3102 setup that would let voice calls come in and out and translate incoming FAX calls to TIF files (forwarded through email)). My target setup is : PSTN <-- analog--> SPA3102 Line Port <-- SIP --> Asterisk <-- SIP -->

Converting from FXO to SIP?
I have a customer who has an analog PBX that is able to be put in "away mode" such that when an inbound call comes in, it rings their cordless phone. This lets them leave the desk without risking missing a call. However, we'd like to find a black box that would act like the cordless phone as far as the PBX was concerned, but instead of ringing a handset, we want it to dial an

T.38 "client" for Linux?
I am looking for a simple way to send occasional faxes via the FXO port on my SPA3102 -- without having to connect a fax modem to an ATA. In an ideal world, this would be some sort of "softfax" that runs on my Linux desktop and talks (via Asterisk) to the SPA3102 with T.38. This is one of those things that I thought would be relatively straightforward, but a couple of hours of Googling

VLAN issue
OK, thanks again for all your help. I have resolved this, finally. The problem was that I configured VLAN 48 as the native VLAN on the trunk port. That was a mistake as apparently the native VLAN is the one where Cisco does not bother to tag packets. For now I set the native VLAN to VLAN 1 and that works. Cheers, Boris. On Sun, Jan 25, 2015 at 7:13 PM, Boris Epstein <borepstein at

SPA3102 registration problem
Hi list, After failing to get a Sipura/Linksys SPA3000, which I've configured as a PSTN gateway, to pass on the Caller ID, I decided to try my luck with a Linksys SPA3102 after hearing some promising stories. Unfortunately, I've run into a completely new problem: it seems Asterisk won't let this device register. I went about configuring the SPA3102 in much the same way as I

SPA3102 + asterisk drop call and loop (was SPA3102 5.1.7 Firmware (codec bug in 5.1.10 ?) )
Ok, I downgraded spa3102 to 3.3.6. Now when I make a call from pstn and call is established asterisk seems to drop the call. However I still hearing ringback on pstn side, call is established again, and asterisk drops the call again, like a loop. -- Executing [preat_admin at nodo:1] Playback("SIP/PSTN-08214948", "horario-atencion/our-business-hours-are") in new stack
