Erratic calls through NAT-ed server
Morning,
We recently pushed our Asterisk video bridge into a DMZ and since then, local calls have been unreliable to say the least. While offsite calls work nicely, calls on our internal server usually fail to ring the far end. Two test calls that were made 4 minutes apart yielded different results: one rang the far end, the other kept trying to transmit the Invite. The configuration didn't

The my_controller.rb file looks like this:
module Admin
class MyController
def index
render :text => ''Hello!''
end
end
end

external journal
Hello!
I have some questions about external journals.
On a 4 disk software RAID 5 I have two big devices (one 60 GB, one 180
GB). I would like to give each an external journal on a 2 disk software
RAID 1 device and use data=journal.
The journal will get its own partition with mke2fs -O journal_dev
/dev/mdwhatever.
The used 6 harddrives are all IDE drives, they are connected through

feedback on a few ActiveSupport::Multibyte patches
Hi all,
In response to Rodrigo Rosas''s message about mb_chars.upcase not
giving the expected result on 1.9, I''ve done some work in a fork to
make String#mb_chars always return an instance of a proxy class, both
with Ruby 1.8 and Ruby 1.9. The end result of the patch is
(hopefully) to make Rails'' multibyte functionality behave the same way
in 1.8.7 and 1.9.x.

problem with simple if() statement
the following code apprantely, for some grand old reason, induces a syntax error:
if (seq[i] = "A") m <- trans[1,]
where seq is a vector and trans is a matrix. I cannot for the life of me see why this is wrong. Syntax error is:
Error: syntax error in "if (seq[i] ="

Limiting Users
When using windows NT and Netware there are ways of limiting the logins of
users such as only allowing them on between 9am - 5pm and limiting maximum
concurrent connection to one. Is there a way of enforcing these
restrictions through samba or similar?
Many thanks

Bulk Reverse Phone Lookup
Is anyone aware of a service where we can lookup phone numbers to
determine a name and/or name + address available in bulk?
We want to look up every number called to our call center, so it will
be tens of thousands per day. Services that charge 3 to 5 cents per
lookup will get way too expensive very quickly.
Thus, I'm looking for a service that can either license a database or

question to data= option
Hi ext3-users!
I have a question to the data= option.
Can I determine which of the alternatives ordered, writenback, journal
is used at the mounting time or do I have to decide at making time of
the journal (or is the journal made at mounting time, after the old
entries have been replayed)? Goes the same for external journals?
The reason: I want to know if I can change from data=ordered

Running a 32-bit application on CentOS3-x64
Hi,
I'm trying to run Norman anti-virus on a CentOS 3 box, x64. Is it
possible?
Running the binary gives me this error:
[root at server bin]# ./nvcc
-bash: ./nvcc: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or
directory
I guess I would have to install i386 libraries that it requires, as well.
It it possible?

Rail''s basic idea
Hallo,
what links would you recommend for an advanced programmer, who wants to
know something about the basic idea and architecture of Rails.
That''s no question for tutorials or howtos, but rather for theoretical
documents and field reports.
Can you help me?

samba & exchange
Hi,
I'm thinking of implementing Samba as a file and print server. But I have an
Exchange on a PDC. Can they both coexist in a same network? What's the best
way that I can implement this, so users can login and use Samba as their
file/print server as well as use Exchange?

[OT] Email line separator
What line separator do you use when composing emails?
1. \n
2. \r\n
3. \r
Is there a ''official'' line separator for emails (rfc-document?)?
What separator is the most compatible between Windows, OS X and Linux?

Hi,
I have print$ setup and points to /var/lib/samba/printers. I have
printer_admin and write_list access. /var/lib/samba/printers is setup with

get access denied. Would someone please give me a few pointers please?
