How to trigger a resync of a newly replaced empty brick in replicate config ?
Hi,
I simplified the config in my first email, but I actually have 2x4 servers in replicate-distribute with each 4 bricks for 6 of them and 2 bricks for the remaining 2. Full healing will just take ages... for a just single brick to resync !

mixing tcp/ip and ib/rdma in distributed replicated volume for disaster recovery.
Hi,
we would like to build a gluster storage systems that combines our
need for performance with our need for disaster recovery. I saw a
couple of posts indicating that this is possible
(http://gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users/2010-February/003862.html)
but am not 100% clear if that is possible
Let's assume I have a total of 6 storage servers and bricks and want
to spread them across 2

Problem in viewing server hostname when browsing network
I've setup a Ubuntu16.04 server with Samba 4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.23.
Everything works fine except for a little problem with reverse "name resolution": when browsing computer in the networks the server is displayed as IP address instead of the configured hostname. All the PCs are displayed with name, only the server has the IP. [1]
Accessing the server via \\hostname works

Hey guys,
I have a OCFS2 Cluster mounted at 4 xen-server (gentoo). Today I
upgraded the xen-kernel for tests at one server (server2) from
2.6.34-xen to 2.6.38-xen-r1. After reboot the server couldn''t mount the
ocsfs2 device anymore.
ocfs2-tools version: sys-fs/ocfs2-tools-1.4.3
Modules are loaded and /config type configfs and /dlm type ocfs2_dlmfs
are mounted.

No subject
e might have something to do with Circuit Switching. I am guessing that the=
CSTele server establishes a virtual switching circuit to the queue server =
and trunk server, possibly through a separate network card (servers 3,4 and=
5 all have an extra ethernet card without fixed IP address).

frames and formulas
I can build a tree at the command line using

but I don't know how to build one inside a function - the following does
not work

tr2 <- foo(dat)
and produces the error

gluster volume create failed: Host is not in 'Peer in Cluster' state
All,
Running glusterfs-4.0.2-1 on CentOS 7.5.1804
I have 10 servers running in a pool. All show as connected when I do
gluster peer status and gluster pool list.
There is 1 volume running that is distributed on servers 1-5.
I try using a brick in server7 and it always gives me:
/volume create: GDATA: failed: Host server7 is not in 'Peer in Cluster'
state/
Now that is even ON server7

comment lines sometimes removed from a function on exit from internal R editor
Dear All -
The problem: comment lines in an R function (lines beginning with # ) are *sometimes* removed on leaving the R default editor (same with notepad).
I'm working on a Windows machine with R version 2.14.1.
An example is below. Couldn't find anything that seemed to relate to this in the Changelog. I don't recall encountering this behavior with previous versions of R. Any

Net Join Samba 4 to Samba 3 PDC?
Hi,
I have a retro LAN running things like Sun SPARCclassics, Ultra1s, Win98
and WinXP. I decided to standardize most of the Sun boxes on the latest
versions of OpenBSD that support their architectures (5.9 for Sun4c &
Sun4m, 7.4 for Sun4u). I have a Debian 7 server with RAIDs to store all the
packages, configs, games, etc. I like to use Samba to transfer the files
back and forth between the

Cannot authenticate new ldap users (unless they are in /etc/passwd too)
Hi,
I migrated a PDC to use an ldap backend and am having fun with a few last
issues..
Existing user accounts and machine accounts were migrated, and existing
users can authenticate.
Now I've added some new users and none of them can authenticate.
e.g. for the user "inktec".
The user can login via SSH, but not mount a share:
smbclient \\\\server3\\someshare -U=inktec mypassword

Port numbers for traffic shaping
Hello All,
I'm not certain that I have my firewall setup to perform traffic
shaping correctly for *. I'm using a m0n0wall running on a Soekris 4501
platform. I have traffic shaping set to provide IAX port 4569 with
priority outbound access from LAN to WAN. All other outbound access is
lower priority. This should in theory accomodate my ADSL connection
which is 1.5 Mbps inbound but only
