Missing features, RLY?!? & readme1st again
Missing features from memory from following this mailinglist: - Win7 join to AD still requires two registry changes. - SYSVOL is not replicated, use a cronjob with rsync. - Domain-Trust works only in one direction (which one?). - winbind does not work on DCs, use a separate file server. - Joining an AD requires one of its DCs in the same subnet? - Cluster filesystems destroy TDB files, use CTDB. -

Winbind error "Could not fetch our SID - did we join?"
Making no additional changes to the configuration, using "net ads join" instead of "samba-tool domain join" immediately worked. I'd be really curious where's the difference between the two and why samba-tool pretends to not have run into any errors… On 2017-11-13 13:40, Sven Schwedas via samba wrote: > On 2017-11-13 13:31, Rowland Penny wrote: >> On Mon, 13

Server GC/name.dom/dom is not registered with our KDC: Miscellaneous failure (see text): Server (GC/name/dom@DOM) unknown
Okay, time to bring some order into this. == Keytab and replication == Editing servicePrincipalName cleaned up the keytab. Some things are even replicating correctly (modulo the missing host), others aren't. DNS replication (DC=ForestDnsZones and DC=DomainDnsZones) is still not working, at least one host is trying to connect to deleted servers for this. The other I cannot confirm because

We mainly use it for stuff that's not AD related (aliases for external domains to avoid NAT loopback e.g., something that's a royal pain in the ass with AD DNS); caching is just a secondary benefit, and if it doesn't work for SRV records, meh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ On 2017-09-10 15:25, Rowland Penny via samba wrote: > On Fri, 8 Sep 2017 14:31:21 +0200 > Sven Schwedas via samba <samba at
