libc6-xen not used on AMD Geode LX system
Hi, I'm trying to install xen+Debian Etch on a Geode LX system. Xen boots fine, but although the package "libc6-xen" is installed I have a large number of such errors: 4gb seg fixup, process syslogd (pid 1878), cs:ip 73:b7f24610 All processes triggers it, and from what I've found on the web it's a sign that libc6-xen is not recognized. So winbind can map the domain users and groups. What I have done yet is, Set up Kerberos working and can contact my ADS-kerberos Servers: klist Ticket cache: FILE:/tmp/krb5cc_0 Default principal: Administrator at TPLK.LOC Valid starting

libwbclient vs. libwbclient-sssd
Can someone explain what libwbclient.so.0 does? On Ubuntu 18.04, the libwbclient0 package is a dependency of cifs-utils and anything winbind related. They also include a package called libwbclient-ssd; the difference seems to most in the location of the library? root at kraken:~# dpkg -L libwbclient0 .. /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libwbclient.so.0.14 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/samba

possible issue in Anaconda WRT processing %posttrans scriptlets?
This sounds really weird, bear with me. I've put together a custom install CD derived from CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1810.iso. I've added my RPMs in the mix, and have my dependencies lined up. smbd crashes on Debian Lenny if using Debian's
Hi there, Installed the latest stable Samba (3.5.1) from the source tarball on a fresh, minimal Debian Lenny server. It took me three days to figure out why the Samba daemon wouldn't run. The crux of it is this: ====================================================================== [2010/03/17 15:11:17.973219, 0] lib/fault.c:46(fault_report)

getent passwd user no output, addc + dm
Hmm. /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnss_winbind.so.2 With samba 4.5 http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=samba shows 4.5 in zesty. Did you recompile? Please post the output of : winbindd -V apt-cache policy winbind or if the 4.5. installed from source, if so, then you have a mixed setup of "source" and deb packages, and that wont work. If its from source, check for leftovers in

How to disable tls on CentOS 5 with Xen 3.3.1?
Hi: I downloaded Xen 3.3.1 source from xen.org, compiled and installed it on CentOS 5. At first boot into xen, I got an error message about tls and told me to use "mv /lib/tls /lib/tls.disabled" to disable it. I issued that command after the first boot. And also tried to remove that directory to /root. But after that, I still got the same error message about tlsĀ  when booting into Xen.

libc6 packages that really support nosegneg?
I've tried the libc6-xen package posted at: http://people.debian.org/~aurel32/xen/ However, it looks like programs are still calling the libc6 libraries in /lib/tls, instead of the xen-enabled ones. Is there anything special I need to do to get this to work, or is the package just busted? Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson |

samba4 + LDAP
Hello all, we are currently running several samba 3 services to give CIFS access to shares (mostly homedirs). Well, access to the shares are controlled by our LDAP service (not AD, OpenLDAP). Our servers are using sssd + pam to check wether or not a user is allowed to mount the share (on some old servers we also use the pam_ldap module for pam). Now, we just want to run samba 4 as simply as

smbd crash
A few times in the last couple months we have had our production Samba 3.0.14a-1server crash. We did not have detailed logging turned on at the time so the attached output of our log is the best process tracking I can give at the time of the crash. What will happen is our shares will no longer be accessible, and all the smbd processes will be hung. We can ssh to the server and do a restart
