wbinfo -u does not listed trusted users, wbinfo -n works
Running a mix of samba versions (3.6.25 and 4.5.1) in two domains- one
"classic" (with samba domain controllers) and one AD (with windows
domain controllers.) The eventual goal is to drop the classic domain
in favor of the AD domain. Also trying to move from samba 3.x to 4.x
since Samba 3 is EOL'd.

wbinfo -u sometimes returns only nontrusted users
Hello
I have experienced numerously (but not experiencing them anymore, maybe
because already not restarting winbindd so often) that wbinfo -u
returned only local users, omitting the trusted domains.
This often happens after restart of winbindd. When I issue wbinfo -m it
fixes itself. It looks like waiting alone doesn't help.
Is this a bug?

wbinfo -u does not listed trusted users, wbinfo -n works, idmap not working
On both Samba 4.5.1 member server and Samba 3.6.25 member server I tried
the following command
wbinfo –set-uid-mapping=35049,S-1-5-21-xx-xx-xxx-xxx
this should have created a mapping entry consistent with the one on the
domain controller for a trusted user
But I got the following error
failed to call wbcSetUidMapping: WBC_ERR_NOT_IMPLEMENTED

getent passwd and wbinfo -u returns machine names too
Hi, first I like to thank the samba team for making it possible to keep the
UID's consistant across multiple machine.
I've just got a quick question about my winbind implementation.
I'm running 3.0.9 on fedora core 2, using my AD for authentication via
winbind.
When I run 'getent passwd' or 'wbinfo -u' I get the computer names from AD
as well as the usernames. (now

wbinfo -u does not return users from trusted domains
Hi,
I'm using samba 4.4.9 in an environment with trusted domains (windows
2k12R2; domain names: res.local, sub.res.local, res2.local).
When I use getent passwd/group I can get list of users/groups from all
domains (res, sub, res2).
However, when I use wbinfo -u/-g I get list of users/groups only from the
native domain I am connected to (res).
I'am able to fetch users/groups using

Dovecot don't erase mails from storage.
Hi,
I have a dovecot installation with a strange problem: all the mails stays
in storage after deleted from users mailbox. If user logon after the mails
are deleted, they don't receive them any more, but the m.## files aren?t
deleted. This happens with pop3 (default for this installation) and/or imap.
The dovecot is installed along postfix with mysql and multi-domains support

wbinfo -u lists ADS users without domain, getent passwd returns only local users
I'm using Samba/Winbind for single-sign on in a network where Active
Directory is the authoritative authentication source. The active
directory server is Windows 2003 with Services for Unix installed so
that the schema is extended and the management interface has a "Unix
Attributes" tab.
wbinfo -u produces a list of users, without a DOMAIN+ prefix.

wbinfo -u returns 0xc0000022
Hello,
I am attempting to add a Redhat 9 box to our NT4 domain as a member
server. I want to enumerate user and group info so I don't have to make
two sets of user and group accounts. I've setup samba (version 2.2.7a)
and pamd the way I think I'm supposed to, but wbinfo -u always returns
0xc0000022. I've found this particular error mentioned in a few
articles, but applying the

wbinfo -u: Error looking up domain users
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked, but I haven't had any luck with my
searches, so I would assume it hasn't.
I have joined my samba box to my AD domain ( win2k server ). I can do
individual user lookups with wbinfo -a user%pass successfully. But I
can't retrieve a domain user list with `wbinfo -u`. `wbinfo -g` works,
sorta, but it only returns the BUILTIN accounts ( System

wbinfo -u and -g work, wbinfo -s works only for some users
Got a problem after upgrading Samba from 3.0 to 3.5 - have a bunch of
users and groups in LDAP and things work for the most part.
However, when people try to change permissions from within Windows, some
usernames or groupnames are shown properly, but other are not - they see
the SID.
Following up I noticed, that I can get a list of all users with 'wbinfo
-u' and that I can get a SID for

Hello.
I have 2 clustered server and they're using same DC. But wbinfo gives me

Winbind - wbinfo -u works, getent passwd only gives local users
I only have limited Samba experience, and expect this is a silly mistake, but
have been unable to find a solution
I have installed Samba and Winbind on my desktop Linux (Debian) machine
(SPARKSTONELX), aiming to unify logins with other windows machines accessing
the PDC, again samba/Debian, with tdbsam password backend. All is well,
joining the domain, and getting account details using wbinfo -u,

family
Hi all,
I am reading a huge data set(12M rows) that contains family information,
Offspring, Parent1 and Parent2
Parent1 and parent2 should be in the first column as an offspring
before their offspring information. Their parent information (parent1
and parent2) should be set to zero, if unknown. Also the first
column should be unique.
Here is my sample data set and desired output.

wbinfo -u/-g/-n works, but not 'wbinfo -i' or 'id'
Hi! I'm trying to add a member to be used as fileserver, following the
guides at:
- https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Using_RFC2307_on_a_Samba_DC
The AD server has been in use for month, but I can't get user
information from the new member. The new member was joined to the
directory, and nsswitch was configured. Running
