GPOs don't work after update from Samba4.0 alpha 17 to 4.0.1
Hi! I have updated our server from Samba 4 alpha 17 to Samba 4.0.1. Everything seems to work fine after some reconfiguration, but our GPOs are not working anymore. Samba 4 alpha 17 was using ntvfs and the root partition with the sysvol share was mounted with "user_xattr" only in /etc/fstab. Samba 4.0.1 is now set to use s3fs and the root partition is mouted with

GPOs not Working!
now, im on a phone and no browser, so limit help. first thing i see.   CN=Bj”rn <User>,CN=Users,DC=rootrudi,DC=de Bj”rn ?  is your system set to utf8? i dont know, but this does not look right. i see, wifi? yes, try utp. langsame Verbindung:500 kbps and do try the ignore systemacl.  that solves the user/group “nt authority\system” problems the easy way. greetz Louis Op 6 feb. 2018

Samba 4 AD DC on Fedora, problem with GPOs and denied security for machines
Hi, i need help with strange problem. I installed Fedora 28 to test Samba 4 AD DC with MIT Kerberos with Windows 10 and Windows 7 clients and i can't run GPOs for machines. GPOs for users works. On Fedora 27 is the same problem. After couple of hours changing settings I make a new installation of Debian 9.4 and everything works "out of the box". I set all like here:

Automating creation of OUs, security groups and GPOs, in Samba AD DC
Hai Mason, I only dont have the time to work this out now. But the 2 Stefan'ss have done this part. Script + proxymod : Stefan Kania, ask him if he is willing to share his vagrant vm setup. Preseed+script: Stefan W. : https://gist.github.com/stefangweichinger/66bfc5c6518c3838e5834287c681ae80 Look at line 220. You could change that to a script you make. And with something like this

Map share based on site?
Hai Marco, You can do this multiple ways. These are some good basics to read https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/musings_of_a_technical_tam/2012/02/13/group-policy-basics-part-1-understanding-the-structure-of-a-group-policy-object/ https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/musings_of_a_technical_tam/2012/02/15/group-policy-basics-part-2-understanding-which-gpos-to-apply/ ^^ see processing GPO

gpo client linux sssd does not apply
Hello Samba Team, how are you? I'm joining linux clients in the company's environment and I would like to apply GPOs to linux clients, I'm in the testing phase. I'm testing with ubuntu clients version 22.04 and the software I used to join the samba AD was sssd. The 22.04 ubuntu client has joined and everything is working fine except for the GPOs for linux clients. I compiled

GPOs not Working!
Hai, Ok, for the sysvol. I'll put all steps here again. I suggest start with this one. wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/thctlo/samba4/master/samba-check-set-sysvol.sh This checks and set the rights to be known to be right. ( aka works great for me ) ;-) Then follow these steps. - login as dom\administrator. - start computer manager, connect to dc. - klik Shared Folders, Shares,

Strange problem with GPOs
I am facing a strange problem with AD GPOs. I have had numerous GPOs working correctly for years but now, following the installation of new servers with a new Samba version, I am unable to create a new GPO with RSAT. I can configure it alright but it fails when I try to apply the respective rights under "Delegation > Advanced". As soon as I apply the permissions, it fails with the
