provisioning fails
I would like it to provision a domain or have had no response on irc or the samba maing list as to why it fails. Having the wiki howto up to date would not be a bad idea either. <br> The wiki and most other online resources indicate the one should use the "provision" command. This command is no longer available in the S4RC you must use samba-tool to accomplish the task. sudo

Thanks Luis I have changed ccdc.lan to CCDC.LAN (NOTE: I cannot change the LAN suffix, this is an old domain that needs to be imported into the samba 4.2.x version, it's a production domain and cannot be changed, furthermore it's on an isolated network. P.S. I have used the same name / procedure with the official samba 4.1.6 ubuntu package and that has give no error whatsoever) I am

Error after update from 4.3.11 to 4.3.13
Hello. I'm running a few sites where the AD DC is a FreeBSD jail. Due to the recent CVEs, I upgraded one of them from 4.3.11 to 4.3.13 and suddenly I run into problems. I don't know whether this matters, but the upgrade involved replacing openldap-client with openldap-sasl-client. Anyway, after the new binaries were in place, Samba would not start. Relevant part of the logs (I can

Variables are not expanded in smb.conf when using Samba 4.0.0beta2
Hello, I'm using Samba 4.0.0beta2 on Debian Wheezy as Active Directory domain controller. I also use winbind in my /etc/nsswitch.conf so getent passwd returns domain users. I've set template homedir = /home/%U in my smb.conf file but, instead of substituting %U for username, getent passwd returns: HOME\Administrator:*:0:100::/home/%U:/bin/bash
