Attaching LinkSys WRT54GL to CentOS machine
I have a LinkSys WRT54GL router, which I would like to attach to my CentOS-5.6 server, to set up a LAN 192.168.2.* . The server is attached to the internet through a Billion modem/router which has a single ethernet outlet. The instructions for the LinkSys router assume that it is being attached directly to an ADSL modem. But for various reasons I want everything to go through my server. I wonder

Testers needed for VoIP router solution
Hi all, We have put together a firmware for a range of inexpensive routers. It has been configured to provide optimum VoIP performance. We have internally tested it for number of months and it looks very good. You should be able to run it easily with 20+ phones on local network ( we still did not hit the upper limit ) assuming that you have bandwidth. Your VoIP will get prioritized over other

OT: Linksys router misbehaviour
I'm running a Linksys WRT54GL router from my CentOS-7 home server. Every now and then (maybe once every 2 days) the router's WiFi cuts out, and I've found no way to solve this except to disconnect the power from the router, wait 10 seconds and then re-connect. This always works. The router is running under dd-wrt. My question is - which makes it a tiny bit CentOS-related - does anyone

Samsung CLP-325W network connection?
Anyone got this working over a LAN under CentOS? The instructions claim it is easy to connect after pressing the WPS button on printer and router. Sadly, I don't see a WPS button on my Linksys WRT54GL router. When I press the WPS button on the printer the WiFi icon flashes, but I don't see any attempt to connect in /var/log/messages on my CentOS-5.5 server. Any advice or suggestions

PCI ethernet card for CentOS
I need to get a second ethernet card for my HP Proliant CentOS server, to attach a LinkSys WRT54GL router to. I see that there are many Realtek RTL8169S gigabit cards going for a song on eBay. Is anyone using one of these under CentOS? Do they work OK? (I used to have a couple of Realtek cards - not gigabit - and they worked fine.) Or does anyone have a strong recommendation for other cards? Any

Problem with AT&T VPN
I'm running a CentOS-5.6 server, which in general runs perfectly. My setting is possibly a little unusual: ADSL -> Billion 5200S RC modem/router -> CentOS-5.6 HP MicroServer -> Linksys WRT54GL router . My daughter is just visiting me, and she has to contact her job using AT&T VPN on her laptop under Windows XP. Unfortunately this does not work on my system when connected to

Router for SOHO network - hardware considerations
Hi, Last week I finished installing a small network in a private school : one server (an old IBM X225), seventeen desktops (Fujitsu Siemens PIV 2.4 GHZ, 512 MB RAM, 40 GB HD), all running CentOS 5.5. One extra machine is acting as a router, in that it is installed between the DSL modem and the network, with two Ethernet cards, and it's taking care of DHCP, DNS, NTP and also acts like a

2 questions on CentOS firewall
I'm running CentOS-6 on an HP MicroServer with a Billion 5200S modem/router connecting to the internet. I'm running the standard CentOS-6 firewall on the server. (1) I can open port 22 on the Billion, allowing me to ssh in from outside. But for some reason I cannot ping the same address from outside. (I can ping it internally.) Why is this? I'm not sure if the problem lies with the

Auto-provisioining Polycom 430 wth dd-wrt router
Hi all, I'm trying to use a wrt54gl router running dd-wrt as a provisioning server for a remote installation. I've got dhcp working and I have provisioning files ready to go. I understand that I need to set bootp option 66 to point to the tftp/ftp/http server. In fact, I have this working completely with the ISC dhcp server The problem is that I don't know how to get

Distro ready out of the box
hi all, I''m writing not for technical problems but for a simple question. Do You know if there is a distro which is ready for traffic shaping etc. ''out of the box''? I mean a distro which does not require patching the kernel and/or iptables and/or installing from source etc. and gives the user most of the tools needed (imq, ipp2p, l7filter and so on). many thanks

Office to Office via IAX2 problems
I'm going to try and lay out all the relevant information I have here in this one post. I can provide more info if necessary. ISSUE 1: Office A routinely looses connection to Office B. When typing IAX2 Show Peers, it will show as Unreachable. I issue IAX2 Reload and it will work again for 1-3 days (haven't narrowed the time down yet). My theory is that the DSL at Office2 is changing

Fwd: tinc questions
Hi, I have some questions about tinc. " *Automatic full mesh routing*Regardless of how you set up the tinc daemons to connect to each other, VPN traffic is always (if possible) sent directly to the destination, without going through intermediate hops. " 1- To have client to client direct connection and don't have traffic through the server should I have port forward at the NAT? Or

snom subscriptions issue on WRT (2)
Nothing better, I tried some solutions, but nothing is changed. After some minutes, or after an asterisk reload , it loses all my snom subscriptions... I have an asterisk 1.2.1 on my WRT54GL , all is ok, and I use SNOM 320 as sip phones. When they boot up the subscriptions are ok, and asterisk can see their subscriptions, but when I run some of the commands above, they lose the subscriptions

Looking for best practices
I currently run an Asterisk server on a NetBSD system. It mostly works but sometimes I have weird issues. As far as I can tell they are usually NAT issues. I have a Cisco SPA-2102 with two phone numbers installed. I have NAT Mapping and NAT Keepalive enabled. No STUN server. Both are using 5060. This is behind an ADSL through a WRT54GL with no special port handling. The server is 11.15.1.
