Problem with rsync recent file logic ?
Hello, I have 2 servers I'm synchronizing using rsync, I have a situation where I : 1. rsync from rnd-dev2 to rnd-dev1 2. change the rsynched file on rnd-dev1 3. rsync from rnd-dev2 to rnd-dev1 again 4. File gets overridden on rnd-dev1 over though it has newer change time then file on rnd-dev2. here is the bug(?) reproduction: [root@rnd-dev1 test_rsync]# rsync --version rsync version

Samba writing speed with big blocks
Hello ! I'm having serious problems with Samba's writing speed (both 2.0.5a from RH 6.1 and 2.0.6 compiled from sources) on a 100Mbit network. If I write a file with block size 65487 or less, then the writing speed is about 7-8 MB/s - a very nice value, my bow to the Samba team :) If I change the block size to 65488 or more, then the writing speed falls down to 3 MB/s, which is not what

Re: Ext3 initrd
Never got one to work with 2.4.22 but I built worked for 2.6.2 second try! The mouse does not work (a lot of that going around, it seems), so I am not using 2.6 yet but it did check the disk once. It did complain about an outdated journal update.

I have the source and can compile the modules and make them work no problem. We have archives in the mail list for

FSCK?
An EXT3 filesystem technically isn't supposed to require an fsck, correct? Well, as per my last email re: EXT3 Crash?! I ran an fsck on a couple of my LVMs. It said they were clean, but then I decided to be 100% sure and force an fsck. Error after Error after Error after Error. I wound up losing almost half the data on my LVM due to all the errors. What's the real deal? Am I doing

Problems with 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22
We just built a new server to run Icecast 1.3.11 and Ices 0.22. It's a Dual PIII running RH7.1. We put it online last night and Icecast ran fine for 20 hours. Then it started throwing some errors.. That's when Ices died. Ices reported a libshout error. Part of the Icecast log is included. What can I do about this? Hunter [26/Aug/2001:16:05:01] [32:Connection Handler] Accepted
