6.5 live migration speed
hello,
while upgrading a kvm virtualization cluster from c6.4 to c6.5
and i am no longer able to control the migration speed.
in c6.4 the default speed was the maximum bandwidth (1g in my case)
and the actual migration speed was about 100MB/s.
now in c6.5 the actual migration speed dropped down to about
25MB/s - 50MB/s, it varies and sometimes during migration of
huge machines (36GB) i was at

What do you use to provision domU's?
The subject says it all. I got CentOS 6.4 installed and then converted it
to boot into the Xen kernel, using the C6.4 system as its dom0. But now I'm
uncertain how to put a C6.4 domU on the result. Which tools are recommended?

3TB system drive partitioning question
so I want to install c6.2 x86_64 onto a 2.7TB /dev/sda ... its a
virgin machine with no software, using pxe boot.
disk druid or whatever seems to only want to let me have like 2tb of
default stuff, I'm guessing because its not using GPT?
do I need to preboot into a shell or something and use parted before I
can install ?

A couple of 32-bit packages got no update in 6.3/x86_64
Namely:
* hivex
* hivex-devel
* librdmac
* librdmac-devel
* sanlock-libs
* sanlock-devel
and maybe others.
Is this on purpose (I don't know if upstream has removed or updated the
32-bit rpms, but the old ones are still in C6.3/x86_64), or is it just
the usual sloppyness (I've been told here on previous occasions the
biarch is a pain in the ass to maintain, nobody cares anyway,

RHEL 6.4 == FC?
I have read that v 6.3 is about Fedora 12. Now that v 6.4 has shipped
(no I won't be dumb enough to ask when C6.4 we ship), what version of
Fedora does it match up with?

CentOS 6.4 apparent rpm problem
Well, after three days of beating my head against my desk, I'm waving
the white flag.? I've got a CentOS 6.4 box (yeah, I know) that I blew
away the OpenLDAP client and installed the freeipa-client as we're
transitioning off this terrible OpenLDAP implementation here.?
Everything installed fine, and while I'm still tweaking the ansible
playbook for completely flushing PAM and

Newer version of ftdi_sio
I have just bought an FTDI USB UART
New USB device found, idVendor=0403, idProduct=6015
New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
Product: FT231X USB UART
Manufacturer: FTDI
However this appears to be slightly too new for the ftdi_sio driver in
C6.4; it's not detected.
If I force it
modprobe ftdi_sio vendor=0x0403 product=0x6015
then it gets detected as a

Further testing seems to indicate there is some odd issue with the
file names in the repodata directory.
During installation, after the partitioning stage, anaconda logs an
error trying to access the file

Please ignore this, some ignorant cretin here excluded sudo from being

C6.1 MinimalCD / LiveCD / LiveDVD wiki pages
Hi, the README.txt of CentOS 6.1 refers to the following nonexistent
wiki pages:
http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOSMinimalCD6.1
http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOSLiveCD6.1
http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOSLiveDVD6.1
Copying those pages from their respective 6.0 versions might be an
appropriate first step. I could help in updating those pages if

C6.2 on DELL E6520
Hi,
I've installed Centos 6.2 x86_64 on a DELL E6520 and nearly everything
works just fine. The only problem is that the system hangs after
entering "reboot". I can see that several services get stopped, but
after some seconds the screen is just black and nothing happens
anymore. The weird thing is that "poweroff" always works just fine.
Also, I should note that I'm

Networking issue, C6.2 LiveDVD x86_64
Good afternoon, CentOS list.
I am beginning triage of a rather wierd issue I experienced Saturday with CentOS 6.2 LiveDVD, x86_64. I'm posting this information in hope that someone may have seen something similar.
I use a USB key with CentOS 6.2 LiveDVD loaded, with an encrypted home filesystem, built using the instructions on the CentOS wiki for a LiveUSB build, and it was built by a
