Shortcuts not appearing in gnome panel drawers
I'm trying to trace why launchers created by wine due to a program installation are not appearing in the menus on my system. The launchers appear to have the correct contents, but for some reason gnome-panel is not adding them to my menus. Does anyone know how to run the relavent gnome tools with options to see what's happening when gnome reads these launchers. Keep in mind that there

libvirt domain configuration xml
I am trying to change a domain configuration from a python script. More specific, I want to edit the VNC settings. You can't do this using the libvirt API so you have to edit the domain configuration: Fo exmple, to disable VNC for a domain 'test1': vmXml = vm.XMLDesc(0) root = ET.fromstring(vmXml) devices = root.find('./devices') graphics = devices.find('graphics')

booting CentOS in rescrue mode from USB (+over network)
Hello, is there a way to boot CentOS 4.5 from USB flash key in rescue mode ? The prefered solution would be to have booting part of CentOS started by SysLinux and download the content of CD1 from a network server (HTTP), like Anaconda is able to use command "method". Best regards, Martin

samba-tool auth in scripts
Hi, I created a script to add DNS entries with samba-tool (for LetsEncrypt, as a dehydrated hook.) Works fine, but I have the password for the dedicated user to do that in the script in the clear. I think I read somewhere something about doing it with kerberos, but I never used kerberos and don't know where to start. Is there any good way to be doing this? Thanks, Jakob

R grahics: Save as hangs computer
Hello list, I have encountered a problem trying to save graphs using the R-graphics menu: File|Save as. The menu suggests that files may be saved as either Metafile, Postscript, pdf, png, bmp, jpeg. When I specify any of those file formats a menu comes up requesting a file name. After providing a name R invariably hangs and has to be restarted. I am able to save files under the various

llvm-link unifies identified structs?
The language reference says: "identified [structure] types are never uniqued". But llvm-link seems to do just that at link-time: > cat x.ll %A = type {} %B = type {} %C = type { %A*, %B* } define void @foo(%C* %c) { ret void } > llvm-link x.ll | llvm-dis ; ModuleID = '<stdin>' source_filename = "llvm-link"
