relation "pg_user" does not exist error when running pg_dump
Hi, I'm trying to move a postgres database to another server and I ran into some weird problems. Pg_dump command was not giving any output and the logs got filled with some SELinux errors. So I turned off SELinux completely (and rebooted). Now I'm getting the following error message: # pg_dump -U postgres database > database.out pg_dump: SQL command failed pg_dump: Error message from

pgadmin3
Anyone been able to get pgadmin3 installed on CentOS-4 ? The WxGTK2 stuff makes it impossible for me to get installed from RPM/SRPM from their site and likewise, couldn't rebuild from Fedora SRPMS either. I figure between Jim and Owen and ???, somebody might have succeeded where I would be doomed. I can get around with phppgadmin but pgadmin3 is pretty cool. Thanks Craig

Need help with postgresql authentication set up
OS - CentOS4 PostgreSQL = 8.0.3 I think that I need to locate a custom pam module to use in pg_hba.conf that will allow phpPgAdmin to authenticate users against /etc/password (shadow). I cannot seem to find a straight forward reference to such a beast either in the documentation or on the web. The pam modules that I have found through google seem to be intended to allow one to authenticate

dovecot imap auth fails to reconnect pgsql backend
Hi, We've observed frequent auth failure recently from the SquirrelMail frontend. The imap server is the dovecot-1.0.7-2 from Centos 5.2. The auth backend is a pgsql database on another server. The only way to make it work is to restart the dovecot, though sometimes it'll recover automatically, but you don't know when. At first we thought there might be a network problem, but we

Can I write Nothing to a variable?
Just wondering if it's possible to have an item with no content at all. Here's what I was hoping to do, inside a larger function that acts on a 3-D array. I want to enter, as one of the arguments to the main function, the index over which I'm going to do some action. For example, if the action were to calc a sum, I'd specify a given axis and report the sums along that axis
