pgsql documentation
From dovecot-pgsql.conf # Examples: # connect = host=192.168.1.1 dbname=users # connect = host=sql.example.com dbname=virtual user=virtual There is a reference to identify the rest of the parameters via libpq in the postgres documentation. From postgres, libpq says the connection environment variables are: hostname:port:database:username:password

database.yml, postgresql and pgpass.conf conflicts
Hi, I noticed that, on Windows at least, if I have a password set in the database.yml file for a database that I also have in my pgpass.conf file, the Rails adapter will die with a password authentication error. I don''t seem to have this issue on Unix systems. It''s simple enough to solve - just comment out the password info in the database.yml file. I just wondered if there

Summary functions to dataframe
I have written a few different summary functions. I want to calculate the statistics by groups and I am having trouble getting the output as a dataframe. I have attached one example with a small dataset that calculates summary stats and percentiles, I have others that calculate upper confidence limits etc. I would like the output to be converted to a dataframe with one of the columns as the

Using idmap_rid backend, cannot browse home directory from XP
Samba version is 3.0.10 on Gentoo linux. I am trying to use idmap_rid backend in a Windows AD environment, the Linux PC acting only as a domain member. I am using idmap_rid because I need UID/GID predictability. I can log in to console correctly, and it shows the right user and the "Domain Users" as the group. When I use default winbind TDB, I can browse the home directory from an XP

CRAN - db backend testing
(thread renamed from Re: [R-sig-DB] RMySQL release candidate 0-7.0) Building on Uwe's comments and my own thoughts I suggest variables like SKIP_POSTGRESQL, SKIP_MYSQL, SKIP_SQLITE, SKIP_ORACLE, SKIP_ODBC, SKIP_FAME be used to signal that tests should not be run. If these are not set to something then the tests will be attempted, so skipping the tests is not likely to happen by accident.

Dovecot 1.2.8 problem on AIX
Running revision 9492:3efdbaab2960(Mon Nov 23) on AIX 5.3. I run dovecot out of inetd. Every once in a while I get the following error: Dovecot is already running with PID 2592842 (read from /usr/ladmin/dovecot-1.2.8/var/run/dovecot/master.pid) when I try to connect to the imap port. -Jonathan -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Samba + CUPS
Hi, I have configured a CUPS printer server with samba and it worked with Windows 7 32/64bits but now with windows 8 it can't get the drivers. I found it https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9474 but doesn't know how to use the patch to solve the problem. I'm using a raspberry pi. Thank you

floppy drives
Yes, really. I've got hundreds of the damn things here at home, and I want to go through them and get rid of them all. But... to do that I want to read them. I have both a 5.25" and a 3.5" drive, both are plugged in, but in the BIOS, all I see is the 3.5". Fine, I figure I'll take care of those. Nope. I see /dev/fd0 once I've booted up, but neither konqueror nor

Priv Sep SSH has / as CWD
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, This may or may not be a bug. However, it is DEFINITELY NOT how I would expect and want to see sshd work! If you run lsof against sshd on a privilege separated user, it shows that sshd's CWD is /. I would hope that the CWD would be at a minimum /var/empty/sshd and I would really have thought it would be something along the lines of

Hi all - I''ve applied (to trunk) Bob Cotton''s patch which supports shared behaviours (link to tracker below). I''m still toying w/ names, so please be aware that until this is released w/ 0.9 it should be considered experimental and there will NOT be translation support for it. It will definitely be included in some form - just the names (specifically

tc filter information
Hello list, I guess I am jumping in here at the deep end... I have had a look at the lartc web pages, found the wondershaper script, read through as much of the HOWTO as possible without my brain exploding, and I feel that I get the concepts kinda OK. The thing that I am having trouble with are the tc "filtertype specific parameters". I''ve read a great message on the archives
