Need advice please
Hi All, I have a system running (home based) Centos latest fully patched, etc that is acting as quasi mail server dhcp and name server. My question deals with mail. This is how it is currently set up. Because I travel for work weeks on end, I have fetchmail on my mail server, set up to poll my isp and download all my mail from work and personal isp. In this way my mail queues at work and

Hi All, Was wondering if anyone knows there are any separate rpms to be able to install a true bourne shell and not one linked to bash. Thanks in advance, Phil -- Manners are the unenforced standards of conduct which demonstrate that a person is proper, polite, and refined.

Sound config
Hi All, I have been wrestling with this problem for months now and at my wits end. The sound is always very low and if I try to bring the sound louder by using the sound references icon on the top panel, the sound is choppy with lots of static. Output of lspci for the sound device is as follows: 01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1)

[LLVMdev] inlining of recursive functions
Hello, In lib/Analysis/InlineCost.cpp, inlining of recursive functions is disabled because it is like loop unrolling. But - I could not find a way to have loop unrolling do the job - In the context of functionnal languages (I am implementing one), inlining small recursive functions is often a great gain My question is what is the cleanest and simplest way to inline small recursive functions ?

adjusting the map of France to 1830
I'm doing some analyses of historical data from France in 1830 on 'moral statistics' that I'd like to show on a map. I've done most of my analyses in SAS, but a few things would work better in R. To do this, I have to adjust the modern map, library(maps) map('france') to adjust for changes in departments (86 in 1830, to 97 now). I've read the documentation

Start scripts ordering
Hi All, Was wondering if you could help me out. At work we are running CentOS 4.2 as our mailserver/firewall. The script in question is /etc/rc3.d/S08iptables. As this starts before the network adapters are set up, it hoses our iptables script resulting in denying our internal hosts internet access. What I would like to do is mv the script to /etc/rc3.d/S11iptables so the the
