Change Asterisk MulticastRTP codec
Greetings everyone, I was wondering if there was a way to change the codec that Asterisk uses when streaming via MulticastRTP. Or perhaps a way to transcode the multicast stream. In the CLI, when I have a multicast stream in progress, I am typing 'core show channel MulticastRTP/0x7f7........' to get lots of helpful information. I have noticed that when I do a MULTICAST page and send data

SIP/SDP for MulticastRTP page
Hi everyone, I am sending out a multicast page using the following in my dialplan: Page(MulticastRTP/linksys/${MULTICAST_IP_ADDR}:6061/${MULTICAST_IP_ADDR}:6061,q) Everything works great, but I had a question about SIP and SDP: Should I be seeing a SIP/SDP message from the asterisk server containing media information and the multicast IP address? On wireshark, I see SIP/SDP from the admin

multicastRTP source interface
I have an asterisk 11.4.0 server with two interfaces, eth0 and eth1. Eth0 has a default gateway on it, eth1 is connected the subnet that has my phones registered. I'd like to use the multicastRTP driver to do paging. However, when a phone dials an extension with multicastRTP, the multicast stream goes to the primary interface (eth0) and it really needs to go to eth1. Is there a

Multicast RTP
I'm currently working with Asterisk 11.8.1 trying to get Multicast RTP working (it's not) with some Polycom phones, and I'm really trying to determine if Asterisk or the phones are the issue. I THINK it's Asterisk... In extensions.conf I have a simple: "Page(MulticastRTP/basic/x.x.x.x:xxxx) line, and when I dial that extension I get: -- Called

Re: unable to dissect libvirt rpc packets using wireshark plugin
Hi Michal, Thank you for your suggestion. My apologies that I took sometime to get back on further confirmation. Regrettably, my tshark is still unable to find libvirt payload inside packet capture, though it lists libvirt as a possible filter. # rpm -ql libvirt-wireshark-1.2.9.3-2.fc21.x86_64 /usr/lib64/wireshark/plugins/1.12.5/libvirt.so As I used wireshark 1.12.6 version, I

CyberData SIP-enabled VoIP Intercom
Hi, Did anyone have any experience with CyberData SIP-enabled VoIP Intercom units please? Are they any good? Can you recommend anything better? Multicast to polycom from asterisk
I am using 11.17.0 - and MulticastRTP. Doesnt seem to work with polycom phones as other devices receive my multicast just fine. Is there something special to do to get multicast working with polycom phones? (other than enable multicast on the actual phone). Thanks Jerry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Re: unable to dissect libvirt rpc packets using wireshark plugin
Thank you Michal. With your pcap, I could confirm that, libvirt dissector worked in my environment as well. Yes, it could be that, my pcap do not have libvirt rpc packets correctly though I would have expected. I am checking on it. Asterisk - can't hear other side. Or other side does not hear us
Antony, It is correct. Noone connects to Asterisk box/server from outside.Callcentric SIP trunk configured and Asterisk maintains connection to it itself. No special ports opened, nothing. Connection happens from us to Callcentric and all calls routed in from CallcentricI don't know exactly how it's doing it by it works. Again, keep in mind it is working for many years for most / 90+% of

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Even more puzzling, I reverted back to the old configuration to confirm what I had seen and found that it works in one direction but not the other: i.e. from 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.120, but not the other way around. Must be something with my configuration....which I can follow up on. So, thanks again for your help. Richard On 12/3/19 11:36 AM, Richard Achmatowicz wrote: > Laine >

libvirt behind stunnel4
Hi, I'm trying this setup where an stunnel4 (listening for clients on port 16514) connects to an unencrypted libvirt backend (on port 16509). When I point the virsh client to stunnel4 it hangs. Looking via tshark: 1. virsh completes ssl handshake with stunnel4 2. stunnel4 completes tcp handshake with libvirt. and that's all. When connecting virsh client directly to libvirt (this time

Seeing dropped packets / tcp retrans on latest 4.4.1-10el6
So I might have been misinterpreting things here and might be way off base. I think you can ignore this thread and I'll follow up if I get anything concrete down the road =) The retranmissions I'm seeing and reproducing are probably within normal allowances and can't reproduce the issue that originally lead me down this path. - Nathan > -----Original Message----- > From:

unable to dissect libvirt rpc packets using wireshark plugin
Hi, I am trying libvirt plugin in wireshark to dissect RPC payload in TCP, but finding dissector code not really working. My env is Fedora core 21 (x86_64) and installed packages are as follow: wireshark-1.12.6-1.fc21.x86_64 libvirt-wireshark-1.2.9.3-2.fc21.x86_64 Earlier, just after installation, I noticed libvirt.so available only in /usr/lib64/wireshark/plugins/1.12.5/ . Keytab extraction for tshark analyze
Hi, i'm trying to analyze kerberos traffic using tshark (Samba 4.8.1 on Centos 7). I can't figure out how to extract keytab with password/keys. I follow precisely the instructions at https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Keytab_Extraction But it seems like I only get slot, kvno and principal, can't find a way to get passwords or keys. Any idea someone ? ktutil: rkt decode.keytab ktutil:

Hi All, Was troubleshooting some odd VM network issues and discovered that we're seeing dropped packets + retransmissions across multiple domU OS's and dom0 hardware platforms. xendev01 ~ # tshark -R "tcp.analysis.retransmission " -i vif7.0 Running as user "root" and group "root". This could be dangerous. Capturing on vif7.0 3.054257

Migrating user accounts Samba 3.5.3 to Windows 2003 (2008)
Hi all, I need some help with the following problem: I need to migrate a bunch of user accounts to another domain on a Windows 2003 server (eventually to 2008R2, but that step seemed to big to do in one go). To keep all access rights etc. correct, I need to get the SID history set correctly as well. From what I've researched so far, I'm aware of

performance problem with 3.2.8: unbuffered reads for some users
Hi! I'm experiencing strange performance problems after upgrading to samba 3.2.8 from 3.0.30. For all users except smbadmin (who has administrative rights), read performance is _very_ bad. Looking at the read-requests using filemon and wireshark, I found out that for those users, every read is handled transparently (unbuffered) over the net. (I.e. a 2 byte read-request of the application

no DNS functionality on second subnet
Hi, we have successfully installed our samba4 AD domain with AD DC, smb file server and Windows/Linux clients in the same subnet. Now we try to add a couple of Windows PCs to the domain that are located in a different subnet. As soon as the AD DC is added as the DNS server on the Windows clients it is no longer possible to resolve ip addresses. In other words, for those PCs DNS is not working.
