Asterisk International Carrier Buildout - Create our own International networks for BEST pricing!
Asterisk Users, I am reposting to the Asterisk-Users list what I saw on the Asterisk-Biz list by Mr. Jeff Grammer, GOD BLESS HIM! I am in the Hamptons today, trying to whew a client, and he took a look at my Level3 Partner pricing, and laughed, as his rates were better than mine!!! To top that off, I am colocated within the Level3 datacenter, he has no computers, and gets better rates. So,

Problem locating stream files
Hi *, I have set up a very simple asterisk configuration where I intend to be redirected to the voicemail whenever I dial 100 with my kphone SIP client. The problem is that asterisk can not find the stream 'vm-theperson'. I have made a non-standard installation (since I am just testing), and that file is located in /mnt/tr2/fake_root/installed/usr/local/var/lib/asterisk/sounds. 1. How

International Caller ID?
We have antiquated caller ID schemes here in Australia. We barely support numbers from other local carriers, let alone OS ones. Certainly no names either.

VoIP over 3G/4G Data
What are the recommended settings to successfully implement VoIP over 3G/4G data connection. Assume we are talking about using Polycom phones, and the 3G/4G data connection comes from a Cradlepoint router that is plugged in with AC power and has high gain antennas. The device will be stationary, so we will not have to worry about tower handoff?s breaking the connection. This will be for fixed

Trouble with externalIVR socket connection
I'm having trouble with ExternalIVR's socket connection. Is it working in the current 1.6.0 trunk? Do subroutines need their own h extension?
Hi all, According to the documentation ( http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+h+extension): Be aware: Macros require their own h extension as they do not make use of the calling context's h extension! Does this apply to subroutines too? I am unable to find the corresponding explanation. If not: what happens when a call is hanged-up during the execution of a subroutine? Is the h

How to perform some tasks after the CDR has been closed?
Hi, I would like to do some tasks after the CDR has been closed, and the CDR(end), CDR(billsec) and CDR(duration) fields are available. I have tried to do that on the h extension, but it seems the CDR is not yet complete in the h extension. When is the CDR closed? How can I trigger some actions after that event? It would be nice if the channel is still available, since I need access to other

Multiple 'routes' to extension in different contextes. How to influence search oder?
Hi all I share my Asterisk Server with a few friends. It is connected to PSTN, and various SIP Providers. I offer Free Calls to my friends, but myself I would like to be able to make calls to non free destinations via my PSTN Line. Now I do this in my dialplan: ----------------------- [myself] ; National Destinations exten => _0z.,1,Dial(SIP/someisp/${EXTEN}); exten =>

Finish extension (avoid dialplan to silently continue in the next priority of another extension)
Hi, I have run into a strange behaviour: [ctx-test] exten => h,1,NoOp(*** hangup ***) exten => s,1,NoOp(*** ${EXTEN} ***) same => n,... same => n,... same => n,Hangup() Strangely, the h extension continues on the priority 2 of the extension s. Maybe this is caused by the use of same? How can I make sure that an extension is really ending, something like: exten =>

Problem using LDAP generating Userhome
Hi there, I'm trying to let dovecot generate the userhome directory dynamicly via user_attr. If "uid" is returned from LDAP before "mail" everything is fine, but if "mail" is delivered before "uid" the localpart of the mailaddress is used in home path. e.g.: Mail: testuser at domain.de UID : test123 sometimes home is /mail/store/testuser and

has_many, belongs_to
I have one table(profiles) where each row has many rows in another table(carriers). If I write profile.carriers I get a collection containing all carriers that belong to the current profile. My question is: how do I sort the collection profile.carriers? I would like to sort it on one of the columns (found in the table carriers). Can I override some method in the carrier model or somewhere
