having trouble booting Xen-3.1 on X86_64 Fedora Core 8 install
Hi:
Any hints/pointers welcome. I am very new to Xen, I have a AMD "AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+" based system on which I am running X86_64 Fedora Core 8. I have installed Xen-3.1 on it, but I can''t get Xen to boot. It seems unable to find the root volume, the kernel panics and reboots immediately so I can''t capture or write down anything and I

"out of memory" error when starting Domain 0
Hi,
I''m about to start a Masters research project which will use Xen. As such I''m trying to get it to work on my laptop (IBM T40). I''ve built Xen 2.0.1 from the source tarball using the default .config file for the 2.6.9 kernel. I''m using Suse 9.1 as the distribution on top.
When I boot Xen, It seems to boot the Xen hypervisitor ok, then starts booting

CentOS grub.conf
Just updated my kernel via yum and
# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS release 4.0 (Final)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant)
needed the second line to install HP drivers and left it there for any
other packages which might need it.
just generated the following in grub:
title CentOS
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (2.6.9-11.EL)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS (2.6.9-11.ELsmp)

PAE Kernel doesn´t boot
hi @all,
i?m having big problems implementing a pae-kernel.
i?m using centos5 on following hw
intel core2duo 2,66 e6750
gigabyte p35-ds3p board
8 gb ram
4 * samsung_sata_hd501lj
nvidia geforce 8500gt
i can use a xen-pae kernel without having problems, but as i need to run
vmware, it?s not a valid option to keep that kernel.
the default kernel (which supports only up to 4gb ram) works fine,

xenstored cannot start
Hi,
My base system is Gentoo x64, and I compiled my kernel with Xen
paravirtualization support. The kernel can boot without any problem in
native mode. But when boot in Xen mode, I cannot start the xenstored
service. This is my grub config file:
title Gentoo x64 kernel-3.2.11-gentoo
root (hd0,2)
kernel
/boot/kernel-3.2.11-gentoo root=UUID=38213e99-588e-4a7d-a215-8835f7afb1c4\

Reinstalled Windows and GRUB - Cannot boot Linux - fstab and grub.conf errors?
Background: This is a dual boot (Windows XP and CentOS 5.2 (32 bit)
box. There were four (4) NTFS partitions. The C partition got full. I
deleted the 4 NTFS partitions and did a clean install of Windows XP,
into one (1) NTFS partition.
I knew that I would need to install GRUB again and I did that, using
the CentOS 5 Installation DVD. When I tried to boot into Linux, no
joy. this is the GRUB error

Hello!
I have problems with installation of Xen 3.1 in OpenSUSE 10.2.
I have unpacked the xen 3.1 tarball and installed software using
#sh ./install.sh
Then I have modified /boot/grub/menu.lst and now it looks like:

Strange interaction from grub2 and XEN
I''m testing how xen and grub2 can work together.
I''m using xen 3.4.2 and grub2 1.97+20091115-1 from debian sid.
After many failed attempts I''ve discovered that on my system the first
argument that grub2 should pass to the linux kernel is lost.
This is my working grub2 configuration:
