dribble for R?
Is there something like the LISP function dribble in R? This would log all the output to a file but still show it on the terminal too. sink just diverts the output, but I dont see a way to do what dribble would do? USB Audio sound card
All- Ah, the saga of the 1U workstation continues. So, in all my work configuring the thing, I completely forgot about AUDIO; I only realized my mistake when I went on a cable-measuring expedition this morning. Unfortunately, none of the 1U servers I've been looking at come with audio outputs (there aren't even audio headers on the motherboard), and I've used the only availabnle slot

ZFS Hardware Check, OS X Compatibility, NEWBIE!!
This is my first post here, and i hope it is ok that i posted in this thread. I have been doing a bit of reading on the solaris platforms, and seem to be inclined to try out the open solaris os or solaris 10. My only worry is that my lack of knowledge with the command line may make this difficult regarding trouble shooting. It seems fairly straighforward creating zpools etc, but maybe nexenta is

TDM 400 hardware(?) issue
I am having to abandon asterisk after having used it for 2.5 years due to this problem. Every couple of days (sometimes more often, sometimes less), the machine will lock up because the TDM board or the Dahdi driver goes south. /var/log/messages starts filling up with repeated messages: kernel: TDM PCI Master abort The card I have is: *CLI> dahdi show status Description

couple basic questions
My desire to run Asterisk is finally giving me the reason to install a Linux box at home. Is RH9 the only distro that Asterisk will run on, and can anyone recommend a good source for a cheap Linux (RH9) box? For example, walmart.com has microtel boxes with no OS. Will RH9 and Asterisk run on these boxes? Thanks! -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...

OT: Would you purchase this hardware?
I have about $1200 to spend on 2 boxes and I'd like them to be identical. Very basic web serving, simple HTML5 video, light email serving. Looking around NewEgg, I come across: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA65C1ZT3064 These use ECC unbuffered RAM which is expensive but I did find 8gb sticks for under $70 each:

how do I download pictures from a dumb phone?
How do I download pictures from a dumb phone? I have a Samsung phone I bought at a Walmart. According the the front, it worships Verizon. Beyond that, I'm not at all sure what kind. If I use a real USB connector to connect it to my PC, CentOS sees it as a character special device. What, if anything, I can do with that device, I do not know. I've not found any settings related to USB. In

modern motherboard for centos-5
I'm considering upgrading, and am trying to choose a modern motherboard that nevertheless fully works with Centos5/RHEL5. Though I'm partial to AMD processors, and would like to use one in my new configuration, that's not a requirement, if the most appropriate board happens to be intel-compatible. However, given the way ASUS is dumping LInux and crawling more firmly into bed with

Sieve script won't compile. Compiler output isn't helpful.
Hey martin, Thanks for the reply! I made the changes you suggested but I got the same results. According to my understanding, #header "from" "person at example.com"# is correct for an exact match. Network failure?
Hi to the list. SuSE 9.1, Samba 3.04, + cups, dns, dhcp, apache2, squid, SuSEfirewall2. 2 x 2.0 GHz cpu + 2GB mem. Essentially LAN only. Problem: Server stops responding to logons, logged on users kicked out of home-drives. This happens twice a normal working day. Memory seems to dribble away steadily but surely... My link via ssh (PUtty) stays good. Question: This has been frustrating me for

Sieve script won't compile. Compiler output isn't helpful.
Hello Martin, Wow. That was indeed the problem. I have been staring at that small script for a week and I just couldn't see it. I even had a friend look at it and he couldn't find it either. I feel a bit ridiculous now. Thanks so much for your help, Steven On 11/30/2016 04:48 AM, Martin Wheldon wrote: > Hi Steven, > > OK a on closer inspection :) > > You are missing

Motherboard recommendations
I have been building my systems with Abit IS-10 motherboards, but NewEgg has stopped carrying them, so I need to switch to something new. Does anyone have any recommendations on a solid motherboard that works well with CentOS? I need a motherboard with built-in video, LAN, and SATA. I don't need RAID or any other fancy features, just something cheap and solid. I've been looking around,

H&R Block Tax cut with wine
I purchased H&R Block Tax cut Deluxe to do my 2004 taxes. I decided to give The Feb 2005 version of Wine under Fedora 1 a try before rebooting my machine to Windows and actually starting to work on my taxes. Wine seemed to install Tax Cut with out any problems. However, when I tried to start Tax Cut 2004 , it complained that Mozilla did not have an active X Browser and offered to go on

USB-3.0 on C6.5 ??
Just wondering if there are any known issues with USB 3.0 storage devices in Centos 6.5?? I just got one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817332028 it does either esata or USB 3.0. My new motherboard (ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0) supports both, so I've tried both (of course, can't have a feature without at least giving it a whirl! :)). esata seems to work fine, I
