Billing Fun - anybody know where to get a NPA/NXX db?
Hello;
I've been playing with a nifty Open Source java based report writer
called Datavision (datavision.sourceforge.net) and I've managed to write
enough logic to calculate phone bills at different rates from the MySQL
cdr's. (cdr_addon_mysql) Eventually I want to have sets of rate
structures for each user of the system - so I can bill client A at 3
cents a minute and client B at 2

Obtaining callerid on a PRI for billing purposes (with non toll-free numbers)
I'm thinking of starting a partyline, where people call in and talk to other people. For record keeping and billing purposes, I'd like to go by the callers telephone number.
This method works fine as long as the caller doesn't have callerid blocked, but what are my options if they do block their number? I know there must be a way to report it, because there is a service provider here

CLID Presentation & Billing Number | Diversion vs. Remote-Party-ID vs. P-Asserted-Id vs. From vs. P-Charge-info
We would like to present a toll free CallerID when making outbound toll
calls. In the past, when our PRIs were directly connected to a Nortel
CS1000 we could do this, without issue. Now that the PRIs are front ended
by a mediagateway facing asterisk, we can no longer do this.
Is it possible to set the billing number via a SIP header and set what
should be presented as callerid as another header

NPA NXX
Does anyone have the NPA NXX list for North America in comma delimited file?
Only looking for:
NPA, NXX, City, State
Just seems it should be available free somewhere?
Then comes the next step, the setting callerid name based on the NPANXX to
city, state

US telco lingo
Could someone explain to a non-US dummy the following phrases I have seen on
the list.
"I can provide you with tier 1 termination 6/6. I can blend or NPANXX
breakout."
"We provide US48 termination, blended rate for 1 MOU and above is .008 with
6/6."
What is 6/6?
What is US48?
What is blended?
What is MOU?
What is NPANXX breakout?

Q: PRI leading 0 (area access code) or 00 (country access code) missing on incoming callerid
hi,
on our incoming E1-PRI from german telco Arcor the leading 0 for the
(area access code in europe) and the 00 (country accescode in europe)
are missing on incoming callerids.
only prepending a single 0 is not the solution as suggested by some
writers on this list, because there is no way to differ between national
and international callerids and it's not possible to make the decission

Hello all,
I wondering if you guys could provide me with some advise. We have
developed a simple management tool for a small site which is
architected in the following way:
Server A <==> Server B <==> Server C
Server A is an asterisk server with a TE410P which connects to the
PSTN as well as to a couple of SIP VoIP termination providers.
Server B is another asterisk server

NuFone and CallerID
Hey Everyone,
I am using NuFone for 866 inbound service and I am trying to figure out
the callerid part of it. Any call into my * system just shows "Toll Free
Call" and will not give me the calling party's caller ID info.
Is this just something I have to live with using NuFOne, or did I miss
some type of config in * that will grab the callerID other than the
inbound 866 number...?

Dialing multiple endpoints and CallerID presentation
Hi,
I've got the following use case where I want to simultaneously dial 2
endpoints that both need different CallerID presentation.
How can I do that, from the dialplan preferably ?
For instance, let say phone A needs to both dial B, an internal SIP phone
and C, a cell phone reachable through a DAHDI span from a an Asterisk system
where :
1. users can use 4-digits short numbers to reach

Billing Telephone Number (BTN)
I have Asterisk setup with two PRI's one going to my telco and the
other going to a Norstar Meridian system. The Norstar Meridian is
sending a BTN number that needs to be passed to the Telco. Is there a
way to pass the BTN as a variable in the dial plan? Like
CallerID(num)? What is the variable for BTN if so?
Many Thanks.

CallerID shows wrong values in manager interface
Hi everyone,
My manager interface seems to be producing wrong CallerIDs when
internal extensions call each other. Can anyone see anything wrong in
the configuration snippets pasted below? The following instance has
extension 101 call 103. The phone does show the right caller ID, but
notice that the manager interface has the CallerID as the target
number (103).
Thanks a lot for your time.

CALLERID(ani2) inserting
I checked
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Manipulating+Party+ID+Information
But I cannot find a way to insert CALLERID(ani2), which I can read, but
when I try to set it for a new call, I get a runtime error.
This information, known as isup-oli comes embedded in the From header,like
this
<sip:9087311878 at 64.45.157.104:5060;isup-oli=62>;tag=sansay1724414rdb124
and it can be read

New ip billing solution?? any updates?
Hi people, i've seen the wiki looking for a * billing solution but the
links point to websites that have not updated their content (or news)
section for over a year.
Can anyone recommend a commercial-grade (i mean no mom&pop cdr system)
billing solution that can start small and then scalate as traffic
grows and tested/used with Asterisk before?
commercial or open source links are ok.

Dial Plan - Routing via Caller ID
I am running Asterisk 1.8.10.1.
I am trying to set up some routing in my dial plans and having some issues
(the issue being that I don't quite understand all of the syntax and
patterns that can be used:
Examples:
DID1 = 6140000000
DID2 = 6140000001
CNAME1 = 6149999999
CNAME2 = 6149999998
CNAME3 = 6149999997

Least Cost Routing - Are you doing it? What are you using?
Greetings.
I've been playing with the TrollPhone Rate Engine Addon for a week or so.
I'm curious what is being used out there for LCR applications?
I've run into a stump with the Rate Engine and that is the costing is done
with an integer. With this, how do you put in say 0.014 / minute rate. And
if your periods are not 60 seconds.. well.. then you have even more places

howto store local exchange prefixes ?
The local telco is now going 10 digit dialing even for local (free)
calls which used to be 7 digit. For a while no problem, everyone will
continue to dial 7 digits, and I'll add the area code. But pretty soon
everyone will become used to 10 digits.
There are about 40 3 digit local exchanges. I'd like to store the
exchanges in a database, and use the dialplan to check them. I can
