2.2.8 fails to join Win2K domain
stuck on this in spite of finding a few items in the archive that seemed
pertinent.
just configuring a new installation of 2.2.8 from SunFreeware on a
Solaris 8 system.
installation done, swat running, did simple basic configuration. then
went to terminal window and got

is there any way to specify on wich server a user's home is ? Let me
explain myself... I have a Samba3 PDC here at the head office using
LDAP as an authentication backend. We have offices in other cities and
we would like them to be on the same domain. All those offices are

Mssql Multiple Database Access Error
Hi All,
I am having a problem to access multiple databases with mssql
I am running Ruby 1.8.4 and Rails 1.1 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
I am simply trying to integrate the application I wrote before for
Oracle to Mssql. The application works perfectly with Oracle with the
installed driver OCI8. The app retrives data based on a search criteria
from those databases.

Best way to do logins by group?
Hello!
I'm setting up a fileserver, running RedHat and Samba 2.0.6. This
server will support about 80 people in several different departments,
who all work under the same main unit. Each of the smaller
departments has different requirements as far as shared resources.
So what I'd like to do is create a login.bat for each department, and
have Samba use it based on the group membership

Samba 3.x auth. and idmap_rid on RedHat AS 2.1
I try to use idmap_rid with Samba/Winbind authentication for Windows on Active Directory. The authentication works fine but I'm unable to compile the idmap_rid module.
Here is my configuration options:

Samba BDC unable to join domain
Hi there,
I'm using SLES 9 with samba 3.0.14a. Authentication using LDAP
2.2.24-4.5. I recently setup a Linux box (SLES 9) as a BDC. It works,
there's no problem adding a new WinXP or Win2K on the domain but when i
try to add another Linux box using KDE GUI on the Linux client, i
receive this error: "utils/net_ads.c:ads_startup(191)ads_connect: No
results returned"
