Cannot Install R to Trusty 14.04
Timothy,
The link from stackoverflow gave some bad advice, IMO. You should be
using the RRutter PPA, not RDev. RDev is the where I build
not-ready-for-prime-time versions of R, and sometimes they break other
things. RRutter is what is used to seed CRAN. Here is the link:
https://launchpad.net/~marutter/+archive/ubuntu/rrutter
I would remove the RDev PPA and install RRutter. The newest

Cannot install R on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Hello everyone,
I've spent the last 2 days trying to install base R on my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
machine. I even just wiped my entire computer and reinstalled the operating
system thinking that was the problem (since some people have problems
updating R).
So far I've tried to follow this link exactly that has instructions:

Since I just reinstalled Ubuntu I

A guide to R packages for Ubuntu
As per a request, here is a brief guide to what is available to R users
as packages in Ubuntu.
Each release of Ubuntu includes the latest version of R and the
recommended packages. In addition, there are approximately 80
additional r-cran packages available in the default repositories. The
limitation to these packages is that they are not updated and reflect
the current version of the

Hi,
r-base-core 3.0.0-2raring2 (among other packages) is only available

future? Is there a problem compiling v3 on x86_64?
Thank you

Request for jags package to be added to CRAN Debian/Ubuntu archives
May I request that Dirk's package for jags be added to the CRAN
archives for Debian and Ubuntu?
Installing the rjags package for R requires specific versions of jags
to be present on the system. The current version of rjags requires
jags version 2.2.0 or later but the version on the Ubuntu archives at
Canonical (i.e. not the CRAN archives) is 2.1.0-2
I can always install Dirk's package

Problem loading Matrix package in Ubuntu R 2.8.0
Dear List:
I'm having the same problem that was reported recently. The
latest version of R cannot load the Matrix package, even though it is
installed and readable. I've read the archive files for this list and
tried the suggested solutions (e.g., removing/uninstalling the Matrix
package and reinstalling it). Nothing has worked so far.
Does anybody have advice of what I could try next?

Dear Ubunutu R users,
Vincent Goulet and myself would like to announce the availability of R
2.11.0 for Ubuntu's latest release, Lucid Lynx. The packages should be
on or arriving soon to your favorite mirror. R 2.11.0 packages also
exist on CRAN for all Ubuntu releases going back to hardy.
As Johannes Ranke pointed out for the Debian release, R packages

R-packages for Ubuntu 15.10 wily
Dear Dirk,
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 15.10. It seems that the r-packages are not
upgrading although deb files exist on the cran repository.
For instance, r-cran-rjags is back to 3-15-1
On the repository, I saw that the 'Sources' and 'Packages' files in wily
folder show vivid version of packages although dated to yesterday :

install.packages readRDS error
Hi,
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and I have just installed R 2.14.0.
When I try to install a package: install.packages("SPOT")
it returns an error message: "Error in readRDS(file) : error reading from
the connection".
Also, when I try the command in R: update.packages(), it returns the same
error message described previously.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Monica

Secure apt
I am trying to add Michael Rutter's ppa to my
repository.? I cannot do this from the command
line.? I think I may be behind a firewall so copying
the key to a text file is my best option.? When I
search for the key at
http://keyserver.ubuntu.com:11371/
the search fails. Tried typing and
cutting and pasting E084DAB9 into
the search box without success. How
can I get the key?

Can't install rjags on LinuxMint 12
Hi,
I'm trying to install rjags and R2jags with R version 2.14.1 (2011-12-22)

Here is a history of the problem including several attempts to work
around it.
