This is my wine day: subpixel-AA is here
This makes may day; it actually makes my week! I can't believe the genius wine developers have implemented subpixel font anti-aliasing in 1.1.12! All the apps look 100 times better now! I have opened Word 2003 about 10 times today just to look at the new beautiful UI! I have waited for this ever since I started using wine (~ 2006). This is my personal wine day! Thank so much, wine developers

Boxplots over a Scatterplot
Hello- I'm new to R, coding and stats. (Oh no.) Anyway, I have about 12000 data points in a data.frame (dealing with dimensions and geological stage information for fossil protists) and have plotted them in a basic scatter plot. I also added a boxplot to overlay these points. Each worked fine independently, but when I attempt to superimpose them with add=true, I get a different scale for

Can I scale the labels in a 'persp' graph?
Hi all: I'm using 'persp' for 3D graphics. I need the axis's labels smaller than by defect. I see in 'help()', the information about 'par()'. I have wrote: >par(.....,cex.axis=0.5,cex.lab=0.5) perspc(.................) and the result don't change. The question is: Can I change the size of labels in the perps graph?? Thank you in advance: /salva

changing the magnification of axis annotation
Hi all, how do I change the magnification of xaxis annotation? I need a smaller axis text size in some of my plots. I tried cex.axix=0.5 in plot(), but this doesn't work. axTicks and window resizing
Dear listers, I have written a function to facilitate the drawing of altitude profiles with x (distance), y (altitude) and a z parameter (altitude magnification). profplot<-function(x,y,z=10,...){ op <- par()$mai par(mai=c(0.95625,0.76875,0.76875,0.95625)) plot(x,y*z, type="l",asp=1,las=1,xlab="",ylab="",yaxt="n",...)

Fonts are too small in menu bar
Hi. Is there any chance I can increase the size of my fonts for the applications opened with wine? My resolution is 1600 x 1050 and the size seems to be from 5 to 6 pixels (or dpi) and it really hurts my eyes. All my linux apps are just ok at 10 pixels (or dpi) Thanks in advance Luis

Support for high DPI 4K screens
I was recently testing R and RStudio on a high dpi 4K monitor under Windows and noticed that the plot window cannot be scaled or zoomed without affecting the relative sizing of all plot elements (line widths, font sizes, legend spacing etc). RStudio seems to try to overcome this by enabling dpi scaling for the plot window on high dpi screens, but this results in really fuzzy text and graphics

Can the WINE window be larger on high resolution settings?
I was reading this post http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?p=45535&sid=6957add8af3402a8afa68d8527121e2d and others like it looking for a way to make the content in the WINE window look larger. I mean to look like 800x600 resolution when the monitor settings is at 1024x768. So, I have typed this on the command line: Code: wine explorer /desktop=spider,800x600 spider.exe or wine explorer

How does the cex parameter scale circles?
I'm wondering how the cex parameter is used to scale circles (i.e. does it scale the radius, diameter, area, circumference, etc.?). In my case I'm using lattice with filled circles (pch=19). Based on example, it looks like R scales the radius of the circle: library(lattice) dta<-data.frame(x=rep(1,6),y=rep(1,6),sz=c(1,2,4,8,16,32))

RH 9 and R 1.7.0 Beta April 2 Latest
Hi all, I am now up and running on RH 9. Went pretty smoothly (about 1 hour for the clean install, though still doing some "tweaking".) There are already about 40 update RPMS including a new kernel via RHN, which I have installed. Noticeable improvements since 8.0, especially with the new version of XFree86, which yields sharper fonts that are now (with TTF fonts installed)

Re: Office 2007 black artifacting in wine >1.2
This is still an issue on Wine 1.3.26 with onboard Intel graphics on Natty 32-bit. The problem is especially bad when the options menu is opened, for instance via "Customize the Quick Access Toolbar".

How do I get Garamond font in R?
Folks, I run R on a early 2009 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion. I have a bunch of fonts in my user Library one of which is Garamond. I have tried the ttf_import function to no avail. I played with this for a couple of hours at least and I have gotten nowhere. Here is a bit of one of my sessions (note that I used file.choose to get down to the Font level) > require(extrafont) Loading

Acer Aspire Photographer in need of expert help
Ladies and gentlemen Can someone help me? I have just bought an AS One 120 gig+Linpus Linux as a photo storage device. It is a fabulous machine for the job as the screen is incredibly sharp and the whole deal is better than say the Epson P3000 device. I use a pair of Canon 400D's and only shoot in Raw. The default image viewer (gThumb??) is fantastic as it does a slide show at the same time

change axis labels and text size in "splom"
Hi everyone: I'm using "splom" to draw scatterplot matrix. I'm wondering how can I change the axis labels to c(1,10,100,1000,...) instead of c(1,2,3,...), and also how can I change the text size (for labels)? Thanks a lot! xcui

running a magnifier through wine on ubuntu
I'm trying to run Magnifying Glass from the Workers Collection on ubuntu through wine, and it works pretty well. Unfortunately, it is running so that it is always the active window which makes it impossible to type anything while the program is running. Is there a way to change this so that instead of being the active window it is simply, "always on top"?
