Ubuntu packages for 0.9.18 and .19 broken?
Hi :)
I'm having enormous probs with the Budgetdedicated APT repo on Ubuntu
dapper... 0.9.17 works a treat, but 0.9.18 and 0.9.19 immediately call
the debugger on /any/ app, even winecfg + /usr/bin/notepad..
I've tried deleting my .wine dir, and always ensure there is no
wineserver hanging around, but always to the same end effect:
gdh@plip:~$ rm -r .wine
gdh@plip:~$ notepad

Need help getting Sonic CD to work.
First things first: I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and Wine 1.0. (according to wine --version).
The app: Sonic CD, retail (the newest) version.
You can find a legal copy of the demo http://www.download.com/Sonic-CD/3000-2099_4-10004176.html?hhTest=1&tag=lst-1&cdlPid=859962 here. I believe it works the same as the retail version. At least, I had the same problems with it.

Wine crash
Hello,
I can't use Wine from version >=0.9.18 anymore.
It compiles ok and then it crashes somewhere in the middle of
installation,
I think when Wine tries to execute something.
Even when I try to run winecfg it crashes.
It worked with Wine version 0.9.17 and lower.
Anyone have any idea what's wrong ?
I'm running Slackware 10.0.
Below is what happens when I try to run winecfg.

MOre on buring ISOs
So right now I have installed k3b on this notebook. I am using my Storix
DVD/CDRW usb drive. I can read cds with it.
Cannot burn CDs. First k3b suggests slowing down (from 8x to 4x). Then
use TAO. Then it gave up.
So I try cdrecord directly. -checkdrive finds some interesting things.
Got to close the drive manually; cdrecord says it can't. then try a
cdrecord -v dev=dev/scd0 sample.iso

Centos 5.5 - Kernel Panic while booting.
Dear centos community,
I was in the process of loading the latest 5.5 release of centos in a VMWARE ESX 4.1 host as my first virtual machine, suddenly while booting I got a panic error with the following on screen. Can someone point me in the right direction. This machine has 24 cores and I allocated 1 for Centos to use with 1024MB of memory. Any clues or workaround to solve this problem? Thank

Samba server reboots
Hello,
Long time reader, first time poster :) I seem to be having a problem with
my samba server. When doing file work, it likes to suddenly reboot...
Let me rattle off hardware specs here: AMD k6-2 300, 128mb PC-100 mem,
3gb WD and 10gb WD, a 3c905b and two Netgear 310FX's, a Diamond Stealth,
and a Memorex 40x cdrom. I am actually planning on taking out the second
netgear card (or maybe

Unable to configure wine
Sorry for the uninformative subject line; I can't think of a short way
to describe the problem.
I installed Wine on a Debian Sarge machine. I installed Wine version
0.9.25 from backports.org, since the version in Sarge proper is way too old.
Then I tried to configure Wine using winecfg, but that didn't work out:
I only got this output (abbreviated; I can send the full output if

win98 - can't find files
Hello together.
I have a Problem with my local Fileserver.
Scince a few days Win98 Clients a not possible to access Directorys
deeper than one Directory.. For example:
\\rechner\cinema is avaible, but if the Clients access a subdirectory
\\rechner\cinema\bad_movie, then the Win98 Clients get a message
that the Directory doesn't exist. I changed nothing in my smb.conf
for a few weeks, so I am

Problems with Win32 syslinux
Hi folks,
I'm having problems now with the Win32 syslinux in the 2.0.6 release
when using it on various CompactFlash drives. These drives end up going
into a Geode-based PC board with a built in CF slot.
Now, before I run SYSLINUX.EXE on them, they are 32MB with a Toshiba
part number showing up when the PC boots. They show up on as the
Secondary Master. After I run SYSLINUX.EXE, they stay

[PATCH nbdkit 2/4] valgrind: Add --show-leak-kinds=all and comprehensive list of suppressions.
By default valgrind suppresses many leaks. I'm not even sure exactly
how it decides which ones to suppress, but certainly global variables
pointing to malloc’d data are suppressed, which is not useful
behaviour.
Tell valgrind to show all leaks. It won't give an error on them.
However to do this we also need a much more comprehensive list of
suppressions so that we don't constantly

Natulius CD burner does not accept my 700Mb CD-R disks
When I try to burn anything to cd, I get a message to insert a CD large
enough for my file (normally an ISO image). Doesn't matter if the iso
image is a 600Mb Centos ISO or a 48Mb DSL ISO. Same warning.
My CD-Rs are Memorex 700MB/80min 52x disks that work just fine on XP
systems.
So what am I missing configuration-wise?

IPMI Console: No luck once OS is booted
I have a current RELENG_7 running on:
http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/4U/7045/SYS-7045B-TR+.cfm
with the -3+ IPMI card.
I can interact with the BIOS, etc, but no joy once we get past the loader.
Anyone have ideas?
Attached is the kernel config, and the /var/run/dmesg.boot file.
