[Patch] Makefile.in, new install-nosysconf target
For various reasons, it makes our life easier at USC to have a
'install-nosysconf' target much like the install-nokeys target that was added
a while back.
I mentioned this a few months back on this list and people seemed to think it
wouldn't be a problem to get it into the mainline tree.
I've attached the patch -- it should keep 100% backwards compatibility.
Thanks.

[LLVMdev] Removing $(LLVM_SRC_ROOT)/autoconf dependensies in Stacker, llvm-java [PATCH]
Hi!
In current LLVM CVS:

include $(LLVM_OBJ_ROOT)/Makefile.config
(also $(LLVM_OBJ_ROOT)/Makefile.config used in llvm-test/Makefile.config.in)
and
llvm/Makefile.config.in have lines:

[LLVMdev] Compiling poolalloc
I currently have a slightly modified llvm-2.0 source tree (from the
release tarball). I checked out poolalloc into the projects directory
and attempt to configure it, but I keep getting errors. I would
understand if there were problems building it (since it may require a
different version of llvm), but it should at least configure.
Specifically, I've tried the following commands:

[LLVMdev] Removing $(LLVM_SRC_ROOT)/autoconf dependensies in Stacker, llvm-java [PATCH]
Personally, I don't think LLVM projects should need much in the way of
autoconf stuff. They certainly don't need to replicate things like
install-sh and mkinstalldirs. I'd vote for taking these out of the
projects rather than making the makefiles deal with them. I think in
most cases these are just historical artifacts that have been with the
projects since long before the new

make install errors in openssh(when openpam is to be integrated with openssh)
Hi,
I want to integrate openpam with openssh in our server (which uses QNX632
operating system). I am facing some problems in the "make install" part of
openssh. Following are the steps I followed to build zlib, openssl, openpam
and openssh.
*NOTE*: Since I want the sshd and ssh binaries in my server(using QNX), I
had to cross compile the packages for QNX (environment was set to x86)

Potential Patch
Hey folks,
Here at USC we have a few changes we make to the source code for various
reasons -- and we have to make them for each new version. I always shrugged
off sending a patch in because the changes felt very internal, but the more I
think about it, the more I think perhaps they would be good for the main tree.
Additionally, the more of this that gets into the main tree the easier

[LLVMdev] llvm-config --libs failed
Thank you, now it is more clear whats going on. There is a line:
/bin/sh: /home/wdanilo/dev/llvm/src/projects/Debug+Asserts/bin/llvm-config:
No such file or directory
but why it is searching for it in that directory? (all makefile configs,
are default configs)
Below, there is full output of make:
>> make VERBOSE=1
for dir in lib tools; do \
if ([ ! -f $dir/Makefile ] || \

[LLVMdev] llvm-config --libs failed
I have noticed that I was installing LLVM according to:
http://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html#getting-started
so it was no the 3.1 but the 3.2 version from svn (trunk 167573).
Maybe in the svn, not stable version, there is a bug?

Last call.
Outside the pre-auth patch by Markus to fix Cygwin and a few other
platforms.
SEND ME (privately) ANY required patch against the lastest snapshot.
I'm doing the final commits this evening.
Patches that have been temporary rejected for this release.
- Owl's full patch for SysV Shm if mmap fails
- mmap() on /dev/zero
- mmap() on sparse file
.. Not looked at the BSD/OS 5.0 patch

Small Makefile.in Patch
This is a fairly inconsequential patch, but it comes in handy in a few
instances. The patch simply splits install-files into "install-files"
and "install-sysconf" - taking all of the sysconfdir stuff and putting
in its own target which I then added to 'install' and 'install-nokeys'.
I then added an install-nosysconf to NOT do that stuff.
This helped us

Full_Name: Kelly Black
Version: 2.0.1
OS: FreeBSD 5.3 on AMD64
Submission from: (NULL) (149.106.32.93)
I downloaded R-2.0.1 from the R website, ran configure then make and got an
error. I will paste a copy of the output from the makefile below. The problem
was when the makefile tried to run the R binary. When I came across the error I
reran configure, but this time with the following arguments:
