[PATCH/RFC 0/6] New mux client request to list open tcp forwardings.
These patches implement a new mux client request to list the currently opened TCP forwardings. It also removes some todos regarding keeping the list of forwardings in the options up-to-date. Bert Wesarg (6): attach the forwarding type to struct Forward merge local and remote forward lists generate unique ids for forwardings to be used for identification remove closed forwardings from

Anti-idle in OpenSSH client?
Heya, Most of the windows ssh clients (putty, securecrt) have anti-idle features. They offer either a null packet or protocol no-op or user defined string to be sent over every x seconds. Is this possible or planned with the OpenSSH client? Our draconian firewall admins have started timing out ssh sessions. Yes I'm aware I could hack up a port forwarding dumb traffic process, but was

Idea: reverse socks proxy
Hi, Just a usecase that I'm sure has been covered before but just in case its not an openssh solution would be very helpful. I was trying to install software on a server that was firewalled so no outbound http connections would work. I was also tunnelling via another server. Outbound ssh connections also were a convenient option. What would have been nice would be a remote version of

X11 forwarding, -f, error handling
I'd like a feature whereby ssh puts itself in the background after the first successful X11 (or other port) forwarding. The reason for this is simple: error handling. If the application fails to open the X display and exits, then the client can still exit with the application's exit code. But if the application opens the X display successfully, then it can just display any errors by

Feature request: "SetupCommand" invoked before connecting
Hi, (I'm not subscribed to the list, so please CC me on reply.) I'd like to request adding a feature to OpenSSH: Task: ~~~~~ It is quite sometime useful to invoke a program prior to connecting to an ssh server. The most common use case will probably be port knocking. That is a small program sends certain packets to a server and the server reacts to this by unlocking the ssh port, which

sshd hangs on logout -- is this a bug?
In the changelog, there is an entry: 20001129 - (djm) Back out all the serverloop.c hacks. sshd will now hang again if there are background children with open fds. Does this mean that this is regarded as expected (and correct) behavior, that should not change in the future, or does it mean that this behavior is a known problem that someone will eventually fix? --Adam -- Adam McKenna

[PATCH] Add a Maximum Idle Time (1.2.2)
The attached patch adds an option (off by default to preserve current behavior) to set a timeout on the select() statement that waits for input in clientloop.c. This fixes a timeout issue for me (explained below) and probably also fixes the timeouts mentioned in last month's thread "Idle time out". The patch is also available by http from:

A question on Compilation errors...
Hello I am attempting to build on a LynxOS platform and am using a old version of zlib and OpenSSL-0.9.6a. I get past the configure stage by ignoring the zlib version check. However, at make stage I run into the following undefineds. Any idea what may be causing this. I am using version 3.8p1 of OpenSSH. Thank you in advance for your response Amba (cd openbsd-compat && make)

%h,%p,%u expansion for ControlPath
This allows me to set 'ControlPath ~/.ssh/sockets/%h.%p.%u' for example. Have I missed a good reason why ssh_connect finds the default port number for itself instead of just having it in options.port (like we do for the the default in options.user)? --- openssh-4.1p1/ssh.c~ 2005-06-12 09:47:18.000000000 +0100 +++ openssh-4.1p1/ssh.c 2005-06-12 09:40:53.000000000 +0100 @@ -604,6 +604,17

Solaris 10 support
Hi Developers, This is Viet at Sun Microsystems. Does openssh support Solaris 10 spacrc, sol 10 x86, and sol 10 x64. If so, could you please point me to the link in openssh web site, not sunfreeware.com, that says so and the link to download. I need an official link to declare to Sun that you do support sol 10. Thanks.

ZSTD compression support for OpenSSH
I hacked zstd support into OpenSSH a while ago and just started to clean it up in the recent days. The cleanup includes configuration support among other things that I did not have. During testing I noticed the following differences compared to zlib: - highly interactive shell output (as in refreshed at a _very_ high rate) may result in higher bandwidth compared to zlib. Since zstd is quicker

Deleting the White Space in an R graph
