MySQL/HTTP Auth
Hi,
I have read alot of the archives, and looked over the development
of listener authentication, and wondered if anyone has a working version
with MySQL enabled ? as it seems more in 'development' however I would
like to give it a try.
Any pointers appreciated, or patches I can apply ... to the
current 2.2.0 release.
Also any thoughts on doing a http style, I have seen one

There are up to 800 concurrent users, mostly Windows XP SP3.
When clients access MyDocuments, which is redirected to the Samba

OpenSSH-3.6.1p2 PAM Problems
recently we upgraded a bunch of systems to OpenSSH-3.6.1p2. alot of our systems
have automated logins for backups or systems checks with ssh-keys, but (i think)
as a result of the Openwall/Solar Designer patch, pam_tally is incrementing off
the scales. pam_tally is tallying failed logins for keyed-only accounts:
attempts are made to authenticate those accounts via password authentication

chaining AUTH methods -- adding GoogleAuthenticator 2nd Factor to pubkey auth? can't get the GA prompt :-/
I added an EXPLICIT
AuthenticationMethods publickey,keyboard-interactive
+ UsePam yes
to sshd_config. Now, at connect attempt I get
Password:
Verification code:
Password:
Verification code:
Password:
...
I.e.,
It's asking for Password, not accepting pubkey
AND
when given the password (which is correct), and the GA VerificationCode, it
simply repeats the credentials request.

improving/speeding up a very large, slow simulation
Dear R help;
I'll preface this by saying that the example I've provided below is pretty
long, turgid, and otherwise a deep dive into a series of functions I wrote
for a simulation study. It is, however, reproducible and self-contained.
I'm trying to do my first simulation study that's quite big, and so I'll
say that the output of this simulation as I'd like it to be is

D(COM) with Excel
Hi there,
I'm currently trying to use R in an automated
macro with Excel, and to this effect I've been
using the D(COM) server.
However I've been having alot of problems with
it, because it seems to be limited to only recieving
and sending arrays. I've been struggling
trying to find a way to receive model summaries
from R to put in Excel. I also seem to have
some strange errors

Embedded "From<space>" Lines
Hi.
As some of you may remember, I reported a problem a while back where
dovecot 1.1.beta14 (as well as dovecot 1.0) would corrupt mbox-style
mailboxes by ignoring the Content-Length header and breaking up
messages with embededed "From<space>" lines.
I recently downloaded Dovecot 1.1.5 and noted to my pleasure that this
bug now has been fixed. That's great! This fix

hackish error handling
I''ve got a block of code that''s turning out.. well - just plain ugly.
So i know I must not be doing it the Ruby way.
The main problem I''m having is in dealing with handling errors - and
just not finding much Rails documentation that gives a deeper
understanding of how to handle errors in Rails (outside of several
docs on the catch-all''s)

OpenSSH 3.4p1 on SourceMage client ssh fails
Hi guys,
I have a OpenSSH 3.4p1 installation on a SourceMage box, and I am trying to
connect to a OpenSSH 3.3p1 installation on a RedHat 7.x box and any other
machine.
The client fails with a "Host key verification failed."
Any other client connects correctly to the RedHat box, and any other server
that I try to connect to from the SourceMage box fails with the same error
message.

Hello,
I have installed 2 *'s and i have connected both to E1, ISDN.
Both are using EuroISDN.

Now the problems are:
1. I get some crunches on the line, alot of them.
2. I get some hangup's, very often, and i have no idee from where that is

best filesystem for a webserver
Dear all,
i'm setting up a new machine to handle a webserver with mysql
web directory contains alot of small files and database is around 15 GB
i've did a bit research, read alot of articles..
mainly i came up with the understanding that:
EXT3 is the set it and forget it kind of filesystem.
and reiserFS is the best choice for small files though there's a bigger risk of data loss
