appropriate work-around for problems with a specific plot device (Rstudio)?
Dear r-devel-opers, I'm working on a package that does some plot-intensive work using the animation library. It turns out that this performs very badly in the RStudio plot device, which is the preferred IDE for our team. Our kludgy solution is to detect if the Rstudio device is running, and if so, open another plot device to do the rendering and close it when done:

SFTP - Private/Public Authentication Keysets Beyond The First Set
Thanks for responding so quickly! No but I will try. Are you saying the first vendor connection worked because id_rsa and id_rsa.pub are the defaults if not specified? SFTP - Private/Public Authentication Keysets Beyond The First Set
I'm new to SFTP and using this mailing list was able to successfully create my first Private/Public keyset for a vendor hosting the SFTP server (I'm the client). I created the keyset by typing this: # ssh-keygen -t rsa When asked for the password/passphrase I hit <Enter> and afterwards "id_rsa" and "id_rsa.pub" were created in "/root/.ssh/". I

getpwuid vs. getpwnam
This issue has probably been brought up before, but I'll mention it anyway. I just downloaded and built openssh 3.9p1 on Solaris 8. In my environment, I have two root accounts. The normal one and an alternate one (rjohn - uid 0) with it's own home directory (/export/home/rjohn). After building and installing openssh, I was having trouble getting my RSA authentication to work. In

OpenSSH public key authentication does not work from Windows client if private key was added to SSH agent
Hey guys, I installed OpenSSH 7.9p1 on Windows Server 2016 and generated a SSH key pair with ssh-keygen on my Windows 10 Client (OpenSSH 7.6p1). I can connect to the server with "ssh user at domain@servername -i id_rsa". But as soon as I add the private key to the SSH agent by "ssh-add id_rsa" this does not work anymore and aborts with the message "Permission denied

I was under the impression it was just compatibility, and not actually built-in, but I thought I'd ask here and just make sure of what I'm saying. :) TIA. -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect, CCNA Coremetrics, Inc. update HOWTO page for how to copy ssh pub keys
here: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Network/SecuringSSH the recipe for how to copy your id_rsa.pub file to a remote system is given as: "Copy the public key (id_rsa.pub) to the server and install it to the authorized_keys list: $ cat id_rsa.pub >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys" i suspect it would be better if that were rewritten in terms of using ssh-copy-id, just to be simpler and
