rimage doesn't install on Mac OS X 10.4
Hi, I'm trying to install rimage on a Mac OS X 10.4 machine. I followed the advice in previous R-help threads and got over the hurdles of having the header files in the right places, among other things. But I can't figure out what to do with this error. ice.pnl.gov:/home/waichler<949>system_profiler -detailLevel mini SPSoftwareDataType Software: System Software Overview:

Session rekeying support in OpenSSH
Hi, I am using OpenSSH_5.2p1. It seems ssh server doesn't support key regeneration after a specified amount of time. I manually verified the OpenSSH_5.2p1 and OpenSSH-6.2 source codes and haven?t found any code support for session rekeying in both releases. SSH2 supports session rekeying using the parameter ?RekeyIntervalSeconds? with default value 3600 seconds (one hour) in both

Samba 4.1.11 crashes sporadically
Hi, I thought I should share this unusual behaiviour of samba 4.1.11. All of a sudden while I tried to delete a Folder via samba on a share it crashed. I was using Mac OSx's V 10.9.4 internal samba client (regular "CMD+K" mount via Finder). Server: [...] FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE-p7 #0: Tue Jul 8 06:37:44 UTC 2014 root at amd64-builder.daemonology.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC

specific Host not overriding global Host
My config file contains Host * VisualHostKey yes Host app VisualHostKey no however when I ssh into app I still see the VisualHostKey. It is my understanding that the more specific host should override the global defaults. When I asked on IRC they told me to report the issue to this mailing list. I know my version of OpenSSH is old, but I checked bugzilla and did not see any bug reports about

Dovecot auth process repeatedly crashes on OS X Server 10.9
My dovecot/auth process crashes several times a minute, sometimes at the same second, sometimes randomly. I?ve turned on auth_debug and been pouring over everything trying to see if I can see what is going on but I can?t find anything. I?m running OS X Server 10.9 and dovecot 2.2.5. I can?t say for sure, but it looks to me like the crashed process doesn?t even save anything to mail-debug.log

Opus quality vs bit rate graph
Hi I was just looking at your Opus quality vs bit rate graph.? Latency looks good.? ? Two questions: 1/ Wideband: How did you address channel separation (i.e. What is the interaural time difference (ITD) granularity/resolution in microseconds? ?- assuming two channels. ) ? 2/ Narrowband: I see AMR-NB.? How does Opus compare with modern speach coding and band excitation models? I.e.

About setpcred() and chroot()
Hi, I need to use sftp-only accounts, chroot()ed in their home dirs, on AIX 5.3 with OpenSSH_5.2p1. But there is a problem with the chroot() call. In the do_setusercontext() function, chroot() is called after the setpcred() (only AIX is concerned by the setpcred() call), so privileges are already dropped when chroot() is called. When not calling setpcred(), the chroot() does not fail and the

openssh sftp chroot /bin/false
hi! i need ssh users and sftp users on my server. they don't mix so sftp users have a /bin/false as their shell. however when i try a ssh connect to such a user. he does not get disconnected but hangs forever. can it be that sshd searches foer /bin/false in the chroot environment? but i tried to place it there including ldd requirements. no success. i just want sftp users to get no shell

scp with different users
This may be a dumb question, but is there any reason why scp a at b:c d: fails, where scp a at b:c . scp c d: succeeds? I get "Host key verification failed.". I'm using nothing more complex than RSA authorized_hosts based authentication. I'm seeing this on openssh-client 1:5.8p1-1ubuntu3 and OS-X 10.6 OpenSSH_5.2p1, OpenSSL 0.9.8r 8 Feb 2011. -- Alex Bligh

Mapping usernames
Dear all I am trying to configure samba username map file in order to map the same user from a windows domain to 2 different unix users: Map to = map from bea = PRODUCTION\garcijo mpcadmin = PRODUCTION\garcijo but only works for the first map in the map file. When I try to use a share with permissions for mpcadmin unix user, I realize that smbd takes the first map (bea user) and

Multiple forced commands being executed
Hi, Sorry to post this here again, I already posted it in the users mailing list but haven't got very far. I really need to get this resolved ASAP, as it's causing a big security headache for us. If anyone can help that would be wonderful. The original thread is here: http://marc.info/?l=secure-shell&m=129562817820176&w=2 I am having a very strange problem with SSH. Essentially,
