s3 winbind loosing kerbers ticket
I have 2 CentOS 5.6 x86_64 servers configured with with samba 3.5.4,
CTDB, GFS and DRDB in an avtive, active cluster. After some time winbind
looses the ticket. After this I have to do a net ads join on the server
to get things going. The main DC is a windows 2003 server with SP2. I do
have 2 more samba 4 DC's that I use for backup authentication only that
run on debian 6 that are a VM. Not

ID mapping not the same between servers - smb and nfs
We mount most of our share though samba but I a server that has the home
directory mounted though nfs. The ID mappings are not the same. The
server is joined to the domain. The domain has 2 samba4 servers and one
win2k8r2 server. The 2 servers in question are CentOS 5.9 x86_64 and
samba 3.6.19 from sernet.
Any ideas?

Samba 3.6 + sssd 1.9.5
I have been using winbind for awhile on y linux servers and
workstations. This has worked ok. I am changing to sssd and need to
verify the basic samba config so that samba uses sssd and not winbind.
Here is my smb.conf. My domain is an samba4 domain running forest level
2003 and domain level 2008r2.
SSSD is up and working and getent passwd can see my domain users. Pam

Centos 5 Asterisk 1.4 FreePBX Install script
Hi, All
Here is the install script that I promised. Let me know if there are any problems. I did not include nv_faxdetect in this yet, I am still working on that. The hylafax-iaxmodem script I posted earlier should work on CentOS 5.

R crashes if "toFile" given "~/" in Linux envirnonment
I was running some sample code from a help page tonight and wished to
redirect the sample output to my Desktop under Linux (Mint-Debian 64 if it
makes a different). I was surprised to find that file name expansion using
the ubuquitious "~/" was not recognized, in fact it caused R to crash. Is
this expected behavior? See my output below and sessionInfo(). Also, not

Samba 4 ADDC auth problem with RDWeb app server
I have a samba 4 domain,from master, that orginally started as a win2k3
domain. The domain was upgraded to 2k8r2 with the M$ tools. I now only
have 2 S4 DC's that seem to working fine. No errors in the log files,
-d4. I have 1 win2k8r2 server that is a member server that provides
remote desktop services. I added the webapp service to but I am having

What OS are you using? If Linux then make sure share file system is
xattrs capable and enable it in /etc/fstab (I believe). If not you
can use:
posix:eadb = /usr/local/samba/private/eadb.tdb
in global. This does NOT scale well.

fax / t38 gateway
I'm trying to figure out how to handle our fax line when we switch to
our asterisk for voice. After a lot of reading and poking about I have
concluded, as have many others it would seem, that the best thing to
do is either to have a separate pstn fax line or use some sort of
internet faxing service rather than try and make faxing work in a way
it's not meant to over voip lines.

Fwd: Installing EnterpriseSamba (Sernet-samba) on Ubuntu
I will add here that my server provisioned yesterday afternoon. However,
I did not have time to do any testing.
So, this morning testing and the first thing I discovered was
"sernet-samba-ad" service was NOT running.
I found a Debian Wheezy sernet samba posting (via Google) and within it
read that users need to edit "/etc/default/sernet-samba" as follows:

VoIP traffic shaping
This was so interesting I had to move it to its own thread!
Is anyone using this script? How does it perform compared to the older
WonderShaper script?
-M-
==================
Thanks Kristian I will checkout the new script and see how it goes!

SOLVED Symlink outside the share path
Okay, this problem is solved.
It turns out when I was doing the wide links and unix extensions option it
really was working. It wasn't until I logged out and logged back in to the
client to get a fresh smb connection that it worked.
So I'm good. Thanks for the help everyone. I appreciate it.

Asterisk - Spandsp Fax not working?
Hi all,
I'm trying to setup an asterisk based fax receiving machine.
i'm using asterisk 1.2.18 and app_rxfax with spandsp 0.0.4pre9
I have no problems with a modem-fax, but with the fax machines i have tried
almost every fax fails, both in sending and receive.
the machines are sending a receiving a lot of faxes every day and working
well, so i think the problem is on the spandsp side.
