Samba 4.0.17 Available for Download
Great news.
Just wondered if you guys had a good reference point for compiling for the noob?
I will have to google again to tag the version in git as my memory is generally vague.
The only things I generally get confused on is how to change the output folders so they are distro specific.
I have just been disabling apparmor and selinux but if anybody has some sample profiles it would be great.

[PATCH] configure.ac: don't try to unset -g from CFLAGS
The sed expression is wrong, any flags with '-g' in any position gets
zapped, for example:
-mfloat-gprs=double (for powerpc e500) -> -mfloatprs=double.
Which gives build errors and is perfectly valid in real use scenarios to
switch from e500v1 (single precision) code to e500v2 (double precision) code.

[PATCH] Fix Makefile.am altivec logic
Besides SPE (FSL e500v? cores) there are other powerpc processors
that don't support altivec instructions so only enable them when it's
100% sure that the target has it.

how to build smbtorture using static linked libraries
Hello all:
I am trying to build smbtorture using static linked libraries.
The samba source code I have is samba-4.1.13
for configure, I did:
waf configure --builtin-libraries=ALL
for build, I did:
waf build --targets=smbtorture (so that it only build target smbtorture)
But, the waf build fails immediately.
Then, I tried to only link with lib talloc and tevent statically, so I did:
waf

IAX softphone
Hi all,
Can some one suggest me an IAX client for Linux and Windows?
I used KIAX once, but know it seems complicated to have it working on Ubuntu.
Thanks.

Samba DC on 4.1.7 from sernet
Just updated a DC from 4.1.6 to 4.1.7. After the update, it appears to be
unable to bind any listening ports with the error
NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER_MIX. This is on CentOS 6.5, running samba
4.1.7 RPMs from sernet.
Just as a test, I did a brand new samba-tool provision, and still get the
same results when starting, so I don't think it's anything in my
configuration, unless there

Computers.
is there something that I can do??
Thanks

Netbios Browsing with 4.1.7 - Can I get some clarification on how to use "internal nbt server" (or if I am even able to)
I have been searching around - I cant seem to figure out if netbios

samba 4.1.7 samba-tool gpo aclcheck ERROR
I have compiled samba 4.1.7 on CentOS 6.2 32bit, and did the
classicupgrade from Samba3 with ldap backend.
Everything is working, including GPO.

But this command still shows the error messages:

Samba 4.1.7 Compile on NetBSD/amd64 - 6.1.4
I have a brand new NetBSD machine I am building to replace an existing one
that is retiring. The current server runs an old version of Samba and I
would like to upgrade this machine to something newer. The machine has basic
NetBSD on it and that is about it (ie. very little if any customization to
the out of the box configuration).
I know NetBSD is probably not a mainstream platform for your
