drs showrepl failures
Hi all, I've been having DNS issues for about 3 months which is causing all sorts of weird problems (most things work fine but then we have days where random machines lose trust/can't login without un-joining and rejoining the domain). The domain was working with no problems for nearly 5 months before this started happening. I have Ubuntu 14.04 running Samba 4.1.6 using the internal

Samba AD DC through VPN. No DRS replication
Hello all. Please help me with my problem. I have organization with branches connected through internet by VPN. First branch (B00) have two Dc's in 172.16.0.0/16 network and second branch (B01) have one DC in 172.17.0.0/16 network. All three Dc's built from sources (4.10.2) on freshly installed Debian Stretch. I am using BIND9_DLZ backend. So, 2 Dc's located in one building (B00) works

DRS replication metadata not getting deleted
We have a test samba setup containing two domain controllers (both running samba v4.1.6). Recently we created an ldap group, added around 5000 members to it and then deleted the users from the directory. We set tombstoneLifetime to few days and waited for these ldap objects to be purged from the system. But we notice that the particular group has slowed down considerably for all ldap operations.

Samba 4 DRS replication
If the replication schedules are modified in AD Sites and Services, will Samba 4 respect those? I'd like to change some schedules for some of our lower bandwidth remote offices. Kris

Dear list, After (almost) successfully removing a dead DC from my domain I am left with only one visible symptom: samba-tool drs showrepl shows two stale outbound link for one of the remaining 2 DCs: DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=subdom,DC=mydom,DC=com NTDS DN: CN=NTDS

Replication issues / local DRS authentication failure
Hello, I've having recurring issues with the second DC in my Samba AD domain. I've demoted/removed the second DC a number of times and re-provisioned it. It'll work for a bit and then replication breaks. Since replication is broken I've been doing the following to remove it: DC-02 systemctl stop samba systemctl disable samba DC-01 samba-tool domain demote

Replication with Multiple Sites in a Hub and Spoke Topology
Hi, It seems unlikely that the KCC is the cause of these issues. The KCC is only responsible for telling who to connect (and when) and doesn't actually affect any underlying network connectivity. Connectivity between the spokes should not be required and the communication between them is usually just some stale data. But none of that should affect either of these commands. Unless the DRS
