NO DNS zone information found in source domain, not replicating DNS
I am trying to join a Fedora Linux box running Samba 4.1.5 to a Windows Server 2000 domain controller as an additional domain controller. I should mention that our realm is the same as our domain name, adi.com. This is a 15 year old mistake. And the Windows DC does not have all of our machines listed. To work around that I have delegated _msdcs, _sites, _tcp and _udp to the Windows DC with name

Authentication to Secondary Domain Controller initially fails when PDC is offline
Hi Ole, Using internal DNS samba_dnsupdate does not work correctly, at least not every time. Someone modified this samba_dnsupdate tool commenting this line: os.unlink(tmpfile) which should line 413. Doing that he was able to get files generated by samba_dnsupdate to use them as argument of nsupdate command (without -g switch and with "allow dns updates = nonsecure" in smb.conf). I

The RPC server is unavailable on Samba 4 clients
Hi, I used to upgrade/migrated samba 3.3.10 to samba 3.4.17 with LDAP backend in place, while upgrading the CentOS from 5.5 to 5.9. In place to retain the trust relationship. The users can able to login without re-authentication from existing machines. Tested 3 XPs, and 3 Win7 but it takes 5-8 mins to login compared to 1 win7 that was re-connected (disconnected from domain, restart, then rejoin

Could not resolve host: mirror.centos.org
There seems to be a problem with my local dns server resolving mirror.centos.org. I know something about dns but obviously not enough to figure out what might be wrong here or how to fix this in bind configs. The SERVFAIL errors below seem to be related to AAAA and MX queries for the domain. Please advise. TIA. # host mirror.centos.org 8.8.8.8 Using domain server: Name: 8.8.8.8 Address:

Logs full of FORMERR errors.
My sparkly-new DC's are throwing up error after error constantly. They seem to be having difficulty contacting the root servers, I think, but I'm not really sure what is going on but I'm assuming it's a Bind issue. Here are the errors. Can anyone help? Thank you! Secure dynamic update failure with internal DNS
Hello, At one point secure dynamic updates worked. Now I require 'allow dns updates = nonsecure' for dynamic updates to work. I can't seem to find any trace of updates being performed in the samba logs or Windows. I've hit a wall and can't seem to progress. Since I couldn't pull anything from the logs I decided to run 'nsupdate -g -d -D -L 10'. This was

Bug in X86 assembler?
You can't use mov. I am not an x86 expert, but after quick googling: Recall that immediates are normally restricted to 32 bits. To load a larger constant into a quad register, use movabsq, which takes a full 64-bit immediate as its source [https://www.lri.fr/~filliatr/ens/compil/x86-64.pdf] Even in your example, assembler replaces mov by movq, which, say, hints:

moving folders bug - rc4
I am fairly new to dovecot... I had a user who in outlook tried to move one of the folders into another folder but it crapped out. User tried to move "Djans*" folders into Koi folder. The subscription seems to show the folder move but the actual data is still under ".ClickEats.Clients.Djans" instead of ".ClickEats.Clients.Koi.Djans*. How do I fix this? Thanks. root at
