samba-tool dns query error WERR_INTERNAL_DB_ERROR
Hello, i have two samba 4 domain controllers v4.1.0, with bind_dlz running so far without problems, but now i have some problems with dns. Running samba-tool dns query dc1 samdom.example.com @ ALL returns this error: ERROR(runtime): uncaught exception - (1383, 'WERR_INTERNAL_DB_ERROR') File "/usr/local/samba/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/samba/netcmd/__init__.py", line 175,

samba-tool dns query - querying the zone apex
(The following is with samba 4.5.2 from source under ubuntu 16.04) If I query for '@' I get the whole zone, including records at the zone apex (e.g. SOA, NS) and children: root at wrn-dc1:~# samba-tool dns query wrn-dc1 int.example.net '@' all Name=, Records=2, Children=0 SOA: serial=2, refresh=900, retry=600, expire=86400, minttl=3600, ns=wrn-dc1.ad.example.net.,

Find/delete bad DNS Entry
Thanks for the reply Denis! I tried upgrading samba and it said "2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.13" is the latest version. The RSAT DNS Manager fails to list the contents of the zone. It actually kills the SMBD process when I try and I have to restart it. So I can't compare it to Apache Directory Studio. Is there some way to query the underlying samba DNS data store to find the

debugging bind9_DLZ
On wiki page https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/BIND9_DLZ_DNS_Back_End#Reconfiguring_the_BIND9_DLZ_Back_End in the "Debugging the Bind Module" the section discusses the location for the log file. The /etc/named.log says "bash: bind: -g: cannot read: No such file or directory" . . . I am puzzled, what "file or directory" is being referenced? My "nslookup

Find/delete bad DNS Entry
We added a DNS entry to Samba via the Windows DNS Manager which apparently was invalid. Now we can't see the list of forward lookup in the Window DNS Manager because it immediately errors and we have to restart the Samba service. Running Samba 4.3.11-Ubuntu on Ubuntu 16.04 Additionally, a samba-tool dns query fails with the following error: > $ samba-tool dns query dc1.mydomain.com

Samba 4.0.7 DC in Windows 2003R2 AD
Greetings, The ultimate goal is a full implementation of Samba4/OpenChange/SOGo but that onion has too many layers to shoot for the whole thing at once. So, I've added a Samba/Ubuntu12.04 DC to the AD and want to get it totally correct before proceeding with OC. I have two questions (at the moment): First, PAM is not included on the Samba DC and I need to know if it is a requirement. The

Multiple DNS update issues in samba4
So far, I have three machines in the domain: kaylee -- the DC. Gentoo. samba 4.0.3 saffron -- client. Gentoo. Samba 3.6.12 wash -- client (Also network router). Debian. Samba 3.5.6 I'm using bind_dlz as a backend, for the record. I've joined saffron to the domain successfully, and the record shows up in DNS. $ samba-tool dns query kaylee firefly.michael.mol.name saffron all Name=,

samba_dlz Failed to configure reverse zone
I dug somewhat deeper into what is going on below and it seems even stranger. The reverse zone without SOA or NS does not even exist: root at verdandi:~# samba-tool dns query localhost 10.16.172.in-addr.arpa @ ALL -U Administrator Password for [AD\Administrator]: ERROR(runtime): uncaught exception - (9714, 'WERR_DNS_ERROR_NAME_DOES_NOT_EXIST') File

Samba4/Windows DNS replication and administration issue
Hi all, I am having trouble with DNS replication between a Linux/Samba 4.0.9 box and Windows Server 2012 domain controller, as well as administering the Linux DNS from the Windows DNS Manager snap-in. First a little background. I am trying to integrate a Samba 4.0.9 server as a domain controller in an existing Windows Active Directory domain. The domain and forest are at Windows 2008R2

About Libvirt Setmem&dommemstat Function
I have sent a similar email about this problem. But I did not describe carefully, so I would like to explain it in more details. I am using 'virsh setmem' to ajust vm memory online. However, I don't know what is the lowerlimit that can be set to. And I try to use 'virsh dommemstat' to get 'unused' memory so that I can calculate the lowerlimit memory with this value, but
